Mouse4 and Mouse5 keybinds?
I would like to lean left and right with the mouse buttons Mouse4 and Mouse5. I have tried to do this by editing NeotokyoSource\cfg\config.cfg in Windows NotePad. I ran the game but I could not lean if I pressed mouse 4 or 5.

If possible, how do I bind the mouse 4 and 5 buttons to actions like leaning please?

Which keypresses do your mouse's buttons in question trigger? Source generally handles mouse input as "mousen" where n is the mouse input number. I'm guessing you tried binding both "mouse4" and "mouse5" to +leanl/+leanr?

You can rebind it through .cfg file or in game options. Both works well for me :wrench:

Line should look like this
bind "MOUSE4" "+leanl"

I'd guess either there's a problem with your binds or your mouse refers to those keys by something other than "mouse4/5".

If you type "bind mouse4" or "bind mouse5" to console, what's the output? Also, can you see any output message in console when you try using those binds?

I'll try those out...

Sorry could we continue this tomorrow please? Sorry got to go, goodbye/night!

If binding mouse4 or mouse5 are not an option? There's always stuff like autohotkey.

Bind leaning on floor pedals, be a pro

Ok, so I typed into the console (bind "mouse4") and it said ("mouse4" = "+leanl").
I then typed in (bind "mouse5") and it said ("mouse5" = "+leanr").

I then loaded the map nt_shrine_ctg but I still can't lean with mouse4 or mouse5.

I've tried to binding mouse4 and 5 in TF2 via the options menu (not the console) and it won't let me do so in that game either. I chose TF2 because that is a Source engine game and I wondered whether this was to do with the Source engine version NeoTokyo was using...

Thanks all for helping me out!

What kind of mouse are you using?

It just doesn't seem to be working for me even with "autoexec.cfg". :bored:

Thanks for all your help everyone! :D

I'm using a mouse with 5 buttons (excluding scroll wheel up and down, which my mouse can do):

-left click(mouse1),

-right click(mouse2),

-press scroll wheel down for mouse3

-push scroll wheel left for mouse4

-push scroll wheel right for mouse5

Are you sure mouse4 and mouse5 don't refer to any thumb buttons or similar instead of the scroll wheel directions? If your mouse has software for defining the buttons (Logitech Setpoint etc), perhaps you'll have more luck setting a config specifically for NT there?
