An AT Grenade isn't so "anti-tank" i.e. penetrating, it's nothing more than a little bomb, the german M24x5 means a standard "potato masher" bundled in five. So it's just 5 handgrenades against a tank. There are some (like the one with a little parachute, it was thrown above the tank and landed on the weak top side) which can be considered more anti-tank.
To kill a tank usually you have to use hollow charges.
A Kingtiger in veteran's hands can't be killed. Like in RL, just by a lucky artillery hit, air attack or failure.
So either try to detrack it, and then use a radio operator. If he isn't in range of the radio op, just keep shelling it with artillery so the repair crew gets killed. It hasn't to be dead, you have just to deny its ability to fight.
Try a decoy, and then flank it with 3,7" f.e. Try to understand his tactic, is he a cautious player or will he move with the KT without inf over a steep hill. As already mentioned the turret's sides are just 50mm, so they can be penetrated even at long range. A disabled KT without guard is dead.
Don't try to go head to head, usually you lose. It was the best tank in terms of firepower and armour.
King Tiger is really slow and expensive, throw grenades to the engine or just burn it in fire with flamethrower
Also side armor is only 80 it's like killing Matilda that have 70
yes you can kill KT with side shot not a problem within decent range - the only game I have ever gotten a KT (only because 1 teammate left - bc he lost his point- yet seconds later I got it back) - I had KT + pz4H vs 2 IS2's and a KV2, I took out one IS and KV2 but the other IS2 1 shotted me from the side, hull destroyed.
* note - the other teammate (3v3) I was with apparently went afk 10 mins into the match, as he didn't protect flank and did not purchase any vehicle the whole match nor responded to chat. *
This. Stick to normal ressources and competitive units. People who play Germany on high ressource settings are simply luring you into a trap, avoid it.
It was a 3 vs 3 and I was playing in Commonwealth.
I spammed alot of AT units in the start of game and took out kingtigers as they aproached my AT troops. Later I got myself few landmatrresses and made wrecked really many King Tigers with a well aimed rocket barrage. Those that didn't broke were disabled from since their tracks were broken.
its very possible... thats not really what the statemeant means...
the comment is meant to say if you play non default settings than you should expect a non balanced game. the game is balanced around default competitive settings... anything additional is out of the realm of balancing.
17 Pounders FTW! Love those AT's...used them other day and took out 2 tigers and 1 King Tiger (had to manual fire at that bad boy tho)...2 of them rage quit.
Oh and sometimes I think it can be down to bad luck if you cant kill a King Tiger in the rights spot...I had a devils bde guy behind 1 and he fired an AT and threw 1 AT grenade at the rear...was gutted as it just carried on going with next to no damage!
I haven't played any over 4K resource games that have Germany in one side for really long time. I even avoid all the games that have the unit settings as "all" if there is Germany as one of the playable teams.
1. Direct control.
2. Equip Dynamite.
3. Send your soldier running at the back of the tank.
Enjoy results.
Even if there are ways to win such a game I don't think they are any fun for new players and instead of teaching them how to play unbalanced messy games I would rather just recommend them to play on normal settings.
1. Direct control
2. Equip Dynamite that has a 8 second timer
3. Send your soldier running at the back of the tank to be gunned down by the infantry and/or light armor support
4. Cry when the KingTiger drives away from the dynamite before it dentonamtes
