Then you'll have to transfer the appropriate shells from the container to your soldiers inventory (double-click them to transfer the biggest possible amount - completely emptying the soldiers inventory helps too, because he can carry more shells). After that you have to close the inventory screen and repeat the same process in reverse with the tanks inventory.
EDIT: Nevermind, there's an easier way. See below.
Wait, that's possible? Wow, I've been doing it the slow way ever since!
A bit off-topic; tbh how the ammunition supply for both infantry and vehicles is handled in the game is one of the few things that really bugs me about it.
Soldiers will take repair kits and ammunition automatically from fellow soldiers if needed for example but not from the field. There doesn't seem a way to make your own troops automatically use supplies leftover on the field or from supply trucks and boxes - or at least I didn't discover it yet. And that's micromanagement getting out of hand for me... doesn't even have to be some supply effect covering some area automatically, just your own AI troops picking up ammunitions that clearly lays around, or at least a way of telling your troops in general or selective troops to do so.
And for vehicles, supply trucks and boxes don't even seem to contain shells needed for those which renders those vehicles useless after some time heavy fighting.
I mean I get the realism approach and that you get to control every single soldier but that's just a bit much for me having to organise supplies for every single soldier by hand, I'd rather have a more comfortable way of doing that and concentrate on directing the fighting instead of that fiddly mess. I'm maybe just really missing something. xD
This system really needs to change, but if Devs change it into a too arcade auto rearm system, nobody will be happy about it.
