~Console command line help

Recently i have been looking at the console commands available in the editor. This is selected by pressing ~ when in editor....

I know about the g_link command but have never had cause to use any other console commands until i got curious and saw all commands available...

Could someone please explain what these commands do because i cannot find any documentation about the console...

Specifically i would like to know what the r_remorydiscard command does, I was hoping it might somehow free up resources..

Testing each command involves a lot of trial and error and from their coomand name some are clear what they do but others are vague as to what their function is...
