Suggestions
Well I've played the game a bit and I can say I like it a lot! I know, I've only played three hours but non the less those three hours were pretty fun! However I got two suggestions that I think would benefit.

1) Everytime one of my men go down I'm always looking around trying to find out where my medic is or when a vehichle need repairs I'm trying to find a guy with the repair kit. So I feel like there should be an easier way to view the inventory or maybe put some kind of symbole over someones head to signify weather they're a medic or if they have a repair kit. (Or maybe there's a button or something to spot out medics and people with repair kits and I'm just being stupid)

2) Now there is skirmish, but not the traditional kind. Not to say that the skirmish missions aren't fun it's just that I like a lot of those skirmish games you see in CoH, Wargame, and Supreme Commander. You know the usual, you and a couple of bot players duke it out with other bot players, why isnt that in here? I'm not trying to be pushy, but is there a legit reason it's not in here? When I go into multiplayer I see all these maps and I would just love to be able to battle it out with the ai on these maps. The missions are great, really, and with workshop they just become more fun, but the abscense of that traditonal kind of skirmish you see in a lot of rts games just isn't here, I would really, really, really like to see that in the future if it's possible to put it in, and if not, why? Just for the sake of my own curiousity.

Anyway, loving the game so far, it's so detailed! From changing the stance of characters, to selecting individual units, to the inventory system, its great! With the additions of the two things I put I think it would make the even better! Especially the second option! Anyway thanks for listening!

1. Try dragging the mouse (right button depressd) over all your infantry positions and you will very quickly find your medic (if you have one) then you can individually select and use. Nearly all vehicles have a repair kit. Anyway all you have to do is select your infantryman, right click the spanner (UI - lower right of screen) so it highlights red an click over the vehicle to be repaired......simples. Make sure your infantryman has room in his inventory for the repair kit. If it is full transfer some of your gear to the vehicle until it is repaired then reclaim it.

2. Skirmishes......personally, I like them as they are.....There are so many mods that you can play, there are the combat, frontline, matchmaking, etc etc in multiplay, for the kind of play that you are advocating. I am also sure that after full release the mods will flow to such a point you will be swamped for choice

So continue to enjoy it as I do.....

I'm sure the "Wargame" series AI cheats.

It spawns without having a spawnable location.
It delivers pinpoint accuracy artillery strikes without having to recon etc. (command vehicle hidden in bushes etc.)

Apparently, the AI in CoH cheats as well.

Supreme Commander???

I rather play a scripted "skirmish" then playing against Airtificial Stupidity (is) Cheating Skrimishes.

So as far as I'm concerned, DMS does it right, the rest is CHEESE!

Yes, I rather play a scipted AI, then a cheating AI.

In a strategy game, where I capture all "landing/insertion points" (spawnpoints) and the AI cheats by spawning anyway.
Or AI with indestrucible units...????

In general, the AI should have the same set of rules as the player.

There is no reason to think up ANY strategy if the AI cheats.

CoH AI doesn't cheat; inexperienced players with poor micro skills just get dealt with very easily.

I have recorded many games played against the various levels of AI and the simple truth is they have an advantage becaues they inherently can process and execute commands without hesitation. But most of the stories that come from the "the AI cheats" camp are over exaggerated if not down right lies.

In CoH you can watch a reply of the match, see your opponents build structure, time, unit production, resource consumption etc etc; and it is all legit with the AI.

Here is a RELIC representative telling people the AI cheats and how it does it.

(the quote from the link)
"Also, for the record here are the ways the AI can cheat dependent on difficulty:

See through fog of war (Hard and Expert Only)
See camouflaged units (Expert Only)
See units being built (All difficulties)
Resource income bonuses (Bonus for Expert, Penalty for Easy)

Aside from the above list the AI has no cheats, exploits, or any special hidden commands. The AI units don't do more damage or have more health or armour, etc."

P.S. I resent the "inexperienced players with poor micro skills remark"
I'm 41 and have been playing RTT/RTS games since I was 12'ish...

You, not reading what is being said....

The AI knowing what is being built is like an "auto-counter".
No need to strategize, the AI has the perfect answer

wasn't directed towards you, it was a generalized comment, but thanks for your e-harmony profile ;)

and yes as you adjust or increase difficulty there're buffs that go to the AI and nerfs that the player faces, but you have the option to choose wich difficulty suites your skill level.

But just to make the statement " no traditional style skirmish matches because the AI cheats" is rather short sighted.

so what differs from a pre-scripted battle? you know exactly what the enemy is going to do and bring in...

very well that is clear as MUD

Cool, because there will be no AI in MoWAS2.
Only scripts (with random elements).

Hope that helped... :rfacepalm:

I didn't say I didn't like the scripted skirmishes, personally Iove a lot of them (Play "THE PACIFIC" in workshop, imo it's the best one) it's just that from what I see it has the potential to do those unscripted skirmish games. AI cheating isn't much of a big deal to me, in fact I think it helps make the ai more challenging, but I guess if it hasn't been in any of the other games it won't be in this one. Well at least there's a multiplayer, and some singleplayer skirmishes that can be played in coop. I think I'd be fine if they didn't put it in, but putting it in would make the game o so much funner for me.
