questions on game mechanics
it took a bit but i figured out how to toss an ammo resupply smoke grenade. the camo kit the sniper has makes a fake bush? but only in thick grass areas.. does it hide him aka gilley suit or what? I figured out how to have supply truck re arm arty and tanks but how do i resupply an entire squad of inf ? and I also have NOT figured out how to deploy anti tank obstacles, barb wire and sand bags, im obv missing something silly and basic here. oh and lastly, my howitzers fire off two or three barrages and then seem to hang.. loading circle partly filled.. i check and they have ammo.. and min or two later i can DC it again and shoot. thanks in advance for nice comments and advice :)

the cog wheel on the units displays their special abilities, like with Pioneers they can lay mines, tank traps etc etc
Riflemen do sandbags etc etc

If a soldier has sandbags, mines, tanktraps etc in their inventory you can find icons for these under the "cog" icon in the lower right corner. I would suggest RightClickDragging the icons to you hotbar. You deploy most of these things buy clicking on the icon and the RightClickDragging on the map. You can also hold down Shift and click around on the map to place single mines instead of the default formation.

With Infantrymen, they usually do not have anything other than sandbags (Engineers have all the traps, wire, etc), but can get them from certain supply trucks. Use your 'Eyeball' to look inside trucks for what you want, then transfer them to your Infantrymans equipment inventory. If the inventory is full u may have to ditch a few unwanted things back into the truck to make room.

Some pointers for you

Like yellow said, to deploy sandbags, tanktraps, etc. Click their icon, then hold right mouse button to drag the direction you want your men to build the said line of fortifications.

Bushes cover your men as long as they dont shoot, some units also are harder to spot like Spetznaz or Saboteur cause of their stealth modifier.

You resupply a whole squad of infantry by having them all selected then examining what you want to loot. When you take ammo it all gets equally shared between all soldiers.

artillery fires multiple times then you have to wait for them to load again, they are set to hold-fire mode as default so they won't fire themselves, you can disable it from lower right if u want AI to automatically fire, though artillery is better managed by the player for maximum damage.

Sniper rifles and binoculars can see into the fog of war when direct controlled, very useful for spotting enemy units.

You can cook grenades by having one in your hand then holding left mouse button, just dont do it too long cause otherwise your soldier explodes, your mouse-pointer shows a countdown until explosion.

The small stars you see on the weapon icon on lower left of screen when you have units selected tell you how good certain soldier is with the gun he is carrying
1 star = very poor
4 stars = expert

Some equipment also come with sandbags like mortar or MG-stand, use those to further fortify your positions.

thank you all for the helpful advice!!!!
lol the cog panel.. DOH.. i knew it would be something silly n simple.
knowing to have all the grunts selected will be a HUGE help in resupply!!
oh this is gonna make things soo much easier.
hmm binoculars..officers... so thats their purpose? extended view range? any other benefits to having one along?
Im LOVING the game. the direct control is awesome benefit. ive had no kick whatsoever with the alpha i bought into, im excited over the early release tho yes, i do want the full game!.
i can only roll my eyes at the whiners demandig their money back. WTH did they THINK they were buying? oh right.. most of them didnt think at all.. Patience weedhopper, far better to have release date pushed back than to have to deal with a game screwed over by the bean counters in their rush to see profits.

Kodiax@ Try and get yourself a friend that lives Stateside, near you and has substantial hours playing MOWAS1 or 2. Then u can play some Co-Op games and he can guide you through much of the more obscure gameplay tactics.
