If you are not some biased Communist degenerate, then you may not like Company of Heroes 2. (The developers are completely turning a blind eye to historical accuracy and realism to pander to the Communists and Communist-sympathizers that cried until 1C stopped selling it in their store.) However, you may simply like it for its eyecandy and somewhat attractive gameplay and faster-paced combat than the previous Company of Heroes 1. However, if you prefer realism and historical accuracy then you would prefer the Men of War franchise. I, for one prefer realism and historical accuracy and therefore prefer Men of War. But as previously stated, it is simply a matter of opinion. Relic and Sega have no intent of making Company of Heroes 2 modable (they want to avoid it completely.) and Company of Heroes I can no longer BE modded due to a patching flaw that made the custom.dll file defunct. Men of War: Assault Squad II much like Company of Heroes 2 will also feature a Steam Workshop however I believe Assault Squad II will host full missions, maps, and I believe modded skins instead of Company of Heroes 2's maps-only Workshop.
To summarize, it is a matter of opinion and I prefer the Men of War franchise.
Sega has pandered to the Communists, you should try the game again. Now the Soviets are not even close to historically accurate as they both outnumber the Wehrmacht and are more powerful than it. (Go historical innacuracy, eh Communist?) If you have some time, get back into it. What scared me off was the complete neglect for historical accuracy after a bunch of Communists cried and stopped selling it in Russia, it was never about the player. It was always about the money. So, please do give it another try it would be terrible if Sega and Relic catered to the Communists only to have them still ignore and neglect their game.
In Mp the german faction was grandiously overpowered on release to augment to strong pro german agenda going on in the game. So no wonder that some russians were unhappy with Coh2.
I dont get your whining at communist at all. It is more a thing of national pride Russia is allowed to have after winning and freeing Europe of the nazi terror regime.
Have a nice day
i never said i was pro nazi? :S most germans were not nazi's just like most russians didnt r.a.p.e women and children when they took berlin or most americans didnt drop napalm on hundreds of thosands of innocent japanese men and women and children or later an atomic bomb. i just feel as coh took the axis and just cause a select few of them commited horrendus acts and demonize the whole country and that to me is wrong. i had grand fathers on both the axis and allies and it makes me sick how video games demonize a whole nation for the actions of a few. plus about wolfenstein i see it as science fiction and fake and for entertainment purposes only
+1 this!
I loved the realism and depth in Men of War, especially liked the tank combat in Achtung Panzer as well. If you want some good WW2 RTS's, those two are for you.
I have had the best experience in MoW than CoH, thats for sure.
I don't agree on MOW = Arma
Arma and Mow series are my favorites but AS2 is something in between , we can't put AS2 and Arma on same realism level.
While in AS2 the simulation of tank damage it's pretty well done , better than Arma III ,on the other hand the kind of gameplay is far from realism and far from what you have in AIII
PC games are not simulation, but entertainment. Both sim and arcade doesnt "fullfill" this need of good entertainment. Mix (like MoW series) does. Playing CoH is funny, but well, for those who now something about war, its like playing cards with tank pictures. Also sim games like ToW are interesting, its nice to try ranges, penetrations, etc... but after some time... it gets boring... thats why MoW keeps so many people fully entertained.
This is also an answer for the difference between CoH2 and AS2. First one is good relax, but for those, who dont know anything about war. (i mean, fake values, fake armour, etc) + not so much content for a high price. In case of MoW, its hard game, but very good and addicting, if you are "interested" in war equipment.
What ? What was copy pasted lol ? What about CoH 2 copy - paste (with a few new units) for AAA price ?
Well, every MoW title had some new content, new units, new maps, new playstyles, every time in way larger numbers than CoH (50 units vs 250 units) and for almost half price. You cannot say, its copy paste cuz its still from ww2. Should they change it for a scifi horor ?
