I'm talking about an option, either in game or in the game lobby. I don't mean a total change to the system. If you read the whole post you would know that I want this option because none of my friends likes to play with the RTS mode besides me. They all use DC exclusively, and as such have a hard time finding a moment to scroll to the bottom of the map, select all the units scattered about and transfer control to me without their own units getting wrecked.
1. if you share resources. In 8 player games it would take you roughly 8x longer to get a tank or a squad for example. So you would have to wait long time to get more men if you lose yours.
2. If everyone gets the base resource rate, AI would be overrun in the first 30 minutes simply because of more resources for the player, even on hte highest difficulty.
3. If a person gets the unit they bought, that would mean that it becomes a competition on who gets to push buy button first
Only way I would like this changed is that Host is the only person who can actually buy stuff, but it still gets randomly assigned. That way you don't lose games on heroic cause part of the players don't quite understand what to buy in different situations.
Right now the player who has least units gets the newly purchase unit, just pass your stuff to your friends if you can't handle all. Though do make sure its okay with them, it's considered a pretty anti-teamwork thing to just give all the crappy units you dont use anymore to other players so you can hog them tigers and panthers.
Possible is to have separate CP and MP. But than you would need slower income: for example - 1 player, 100 MP / minute, 2 players, 50MP/per each/per minute, 4 players, 25MP/per player/per minute, etc... this would be fair. But imagine game with 8 players - how long would someone have to bank for a tank that costs 500MP ?
So there would be only host able to buy units - but, what if that guy doesnt want to send them to others? What if it would be newbie, and would buy bad things? So, another option, guy with highest score would be "buyer". What if he doesnt want to send his equipment to new people? Its not so easy to solve it... So maybe yes, some switching option to enable/disable host buy can be, but again, there are more priorities now to make... maybe later after release, as developers mentioned - they will than focus on minor issues...

Player y
Player z
Whos screen, the hosts? Don't think midgame menu is a very good idea. There will be protests if the host changes it to suit his needs especially midgame, some people quit games if they allready don't get units that they like.
You think it's reasonable and practical feature cause it fits with your groups scenario, imagine when you host a game with 7 randoms. They will cry if player X gets all units, then quit cause they dont have units or aren't getting anything good.
Much easier fix would be, that you talk about this with your friends and notify them midgame with pinging (n-button) and chat.
Are you even sure btw, that your friends want to share units? Maybe they saving some incase something goes wrong and they don't end up without units. Also this should play in your favor since if htey dont pass units that means future units will allways come to you when bought.
What I'm saying is that changing features won't necessarily fix problems without introducing new problems.
In order for them to change the current system it would require a lot of work remaking the skirmishes again.
who cares how he says it, it's not like if he'd type I would like ,it'd make the devs cancel everything and just add it.
