Your Favourite Faction and why?

Seems the german faction is played mostly MP ranking

1.Germany is without a doubt the best faction to play if you want to win. Their assault squad is very good because of the stg44. They have strong early and mid game tanks/vehicles. They also have the vet tiger which means they will almost always win the endgame.

2. USA. Croc and m1 garand are very good especially in 1v1. Strongest early game nation.

3. Japan. Risky nation because of their weakly armored vehicles, but have lots of interesting options.

4.Comm. Comparable to USA early game, but suffer mid to late game.

5. Soviets. Overall a weak nation. Their tanks are priced way to high and come out at weird times. Very very weak early game. Charge is the only reason to play them

its a tough one..
I'd say germany because overall they are the most rounded.
then USA for ealry advantage, Japan for value for money units then commonwealth fora similar early advantage as USA.

Then soviets are last.

soviets are strongest faction.
1st of all: soviets have very strong hero infantry like assault armored infantry with flamer, 2nd is cheap charge, this unints can easily break through infantry and capture point. 2nd: soviet tanks are extremely effective as for me. 3rd: your personal skill win games

I don't think there are stats of infantry weapons in game. But there are meant to have historical rate of fire so you can google each weapon if you like.

UK is my fav. It might not be the stongest nation but I like it.

I don't think there are stats of infantry weapons in game. But there are meant to have historical rate of fire so you can google each weapon if you like.

My favourite factions are Japan and Commonwealth. I really can't pick up which one I like more:

Japan has good AT rifles and good mortars (izusu mortar is even cheaper than "normal" mortar ). They have weak armoured tanks but they can make fast flanking attacks with their light tanks to take out heavier oppoments.

Commonwealth has really good AT troops which can be used to annihilate enemy infrantry squads and tanks. Commonwealth also has decent tanks and churcils have huge armour.

Probably... Japan :-) Because you need to play active to be succesfull with them :-) Also, they are still "exotic" nation, the "rest" (although i like all of them, cannot say which more and which less out of those 4) is "classic" and is in most ww2 games... Maybe its the reason i wish to see once Italy :-) Probably, than it would become my most favourite nation...

For my, Germany is the best army of the war. Even the last day of the war, they had the best tanks and weapons. They have the stg44, the StugIII, the Flak AA 88mm, one of the best mg (MG42), the fallskrimjager, brandemburger Div, the Panzergrenaderier, they are good in 1v1...
Maybe they have some problems (firsts panzers are weak vs the strongers T-34, the MP40 isn't a good weapon, pak 38 is so bad) but they can win any army without problems
However, all armies are so good and can defeat any army. So it's impossible to say what army is the best, it's better be good with the five nations and have experience with them, not playing with one only.

Soviets have a strong early game too. Try to fight vs an assault squad in a flag and their ppsh-41 will kill your infantry like if there were 6 mg shooting. They have also good heroic units at the begining of the game and if you save for the T-34/57 you will have a good superiority.

Depends by the year of fighting because from year to year the balance can totally change
if you ask me to chose a precise year I chose uhm..
URSS in 1941 because in that period they were damn OP and every axis faction would have hard time beating them


if you ask for a generic all year faction I say

Commonwealth and Italy are my favorites

Why ?

because they have quite alternative vehicles and unique style


however I find every faction very interesting

Italy? If they had to call Hitler for help because Greece was defeating they in Albania and they can't stop UK ships when they only had to go to gibraltar and close the way to the Mediterranean.

In my answer I always kept in consideration the fact we are talking about a game and "what if" not real life,in games external factors like willing to fight,resupply,industry,inept generals and big strategy count nothing, I was referring in particular at the German Soldiers Mod, as that is now a very important mod of this game.

In the German Soldiers Mod you get also "minor" factions like Poland, Hungary, Romania, France and Italy

I can't explain you why because would be a long discussion to explaining you the Italian Faction roster from zero, but specially in early years like 1940 and 1941 Italy had nice competitive gear.


If you are interested about the italian faction or other minor factions feel free to check my vids on youtube or join one of our GSM games to try it with your hands( for now GSM is only on AS1 but soon on AS2)

I know that you are trying to say, you like to play with italy because its a nation that people think isn't good but have power too, like people that love Japan.
