Tips for Seelow Heights singleplayer Hard mode
You few people who have finished the German campaign on Hard or Heroic know about the KV onslaught at around 85%. How the ♥♥♥♥ is it possible to contain it with so few MPs? You cant MAYBE steal and repair a single T-34 tank, but it's a defense battle where you are in static positions. I have tried every imaginable setup at this point, with Grille and Howizters at each side, heavy AT units all over in the bushes, elite units in the field and forest. Doesn't matter. I get ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stomped around the 90% mark, when they take the northern most cap from you.

U should google this map name as there been threads in past on this, but seelow heights is not that tough, kursk from those series of map is toughest. Basically at start of the mission take as many men as possible, man trucks and go out to 3 outter flags, knock ai from their at guns and tow them to ur base flag, move arty to flank positions possibly hill on upper left behind main flag ,place trucks near it for auto resupply from base, then save for flak 88 and buy them place them in main base truck trenches and dont forget to have a truck or 2 near for resupply when low, you can slow game down at single player so u can plan all this easily, start building hedhogs places u dont want enemy tanks to come but try not to build it so that it will block your ap rounds, once u survive defense, work the flanks slowly try to steal mortars, fix any wrecks while pounding enemy middle with artillery, u can sneak on flank far flags easy and setup at guns, then start taking flags and ur allied ai will advance.

So, you mean during the "setup" time go to map border and then wait until the mission begins? Otherwise you cannot cross the river or any other edge of the map. And while I'm doing that and somehow snatching the enemy entrenched AT guns, let my flanks get taken and then tow guns back past my now-captured flags? Are you saying to not even worry about the flags and just put everything into the main base area? It seems like the loss of MP would be severe. Plus if I don't hold the 3 outer flags, they swarm the main base flag from each side, non-stop. I understand getting the FlaK AA gun even though its 600 MP, but that leaves me 1000 MP initially. The Wespe is 600 I think, or should I just dump everything in infantry?

Also, I do frequently Google this stuff and you know what I find? Lots of foreign players trying to be helpful, but speaking in very broken English (or maybe they just don't have very good communication and typing skills) and making big assumptions about the player's ability to get something done. I haven't found a single video of someone doing a Heroic singleplayer campaign mission. Everything I find is either kids playing on Normal and trying to hide it and pretend it's Hard, or multiplayer stuff. I combed the 1C forums as well, and posted several threads asking for advice. Lots of non-English players there, which doesn't help me. If you can find me a single video of someone doing this mission, by themselves, on Hard or Heroic, I would be very grateful because I have not seen one yet.

He means your allies AT guns (green troops in minimap), if you punch the guys of the guns and tow them back to base, you can have lot more AT at the main base area. You don't really have to hold the 3 areas at the front but just make one impenetrable fortress at the back.

and as long as you have 88 firing at big tanks and AA gun firing at the infantry coming for the main base, you usually just have to wait.

Wespe does worse job than AA gun clearing infantry, you also have 2 Artillery guns at the main base anyways, which you should use take out big blobs of infantry/tanks forming at the central part of the map.

Just remember to rearm your troops with ammo trucks

Holy crap, thank you. I had no idea I could kill my own AI idiots and move all those guns.

Thnaks for the useful info. I tried about 10 different ways to win this scenario on heroic and then hard without success; which surprised me, in a bad way. Only changes I made to your method are to grenade the infantry off the AT guns for speed, being careful not to damage guns, then your infantry can wheel the guns back if no truck available. Also, didn't put the 88mm's in the trenches, put them where the field artillery was, and got through fairly easily on hard. It's a great scenario/mission though, thanks.
