it also kills arty and rockets
we are talking about the KV2 being OP not your hate or you being scared of the SS.
SS-Jag is makeing some good points
Points like KV-2 is not capable tank and should fight paper pz3/4 or Germany had best and quality tanks are laughable but expected from little SS wannabe kiddies. As for real SS did some one even mentioned them here except you two SS clown pretenders?
My only problem with SS might be that when I play games and see SS tag for names I know that those players are bad even when playing their beloved Germany
soviets already suck in this game, and they suck hard
the only thing i could think of is make it 6cp instead of 5, anything else and it'll become useless
and really, what the HECK did you expect when your tank is hit by a gigantic shell with a 6 kg TNT charge inside???
regarding KV-2 irl
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Raseiniai
The next day, a single KV-2 heavy tank, at a crossroads in front of Raseiniai, managed to cut off elements of the 6th Panzer Division which had established bridgeheads on the Dubysa. It stalled the Division's advance for a full day while being attacked by a variety of antitank weapons, until it finally ran out of ammunition.
Soviet Union is the preferred 1v1 nation at the moment by the competitive community, it was shown countless times in the 1v1 tournament that is wrapping up. This is due to its charge with low cp, and best medium tank in the game, t3457 plus a t60 combo are deadly.
Team games - I would say they are not necessarily the clear cut favorite but still probably used the most. I think they are more deadly with on default maps with default number of players. This is the main problem, not necessarily the KV2.
I do think the KV2 is a bit op on DEFAULT maps - I say this because most default maps play too small, ex Farmland is NOT a 3v3 map (competitively it is a 2v2), however I think that if you play wider maps such as R6 or play Default Maps with 2 Less players (ie Farmland 2v2) than the KV2 can be countered and proves less effective.
The KV2 becomes OP when you play for example a 4v4 on a default map like Bazerville (should be played 3v3 competitively), because you have no room to move, your tanks and infantry become stagnant, once you have stagnant tanks, infantry, and emplacements, they become easy targets for a slow moving, slow reloading, and bad infantry support weapon like the KV2. Troops are more bunched up, emplacements are closer together, tanks are close and locked down from moving because of the cramped default map and default player count. This is an advantage to the KV2.
HOWEVER ....
If you play on a more open map where you have more room to probe, move, and utilize different tactics, the KV2 while still powerful can become less effective. It does not hit moving targets very well, it is slow to get in position, infantry support becomes more key, and infantry coverage will be less, it does not shoot accurately at all if on a hill or shooting up/down a slope, and its slow reload time means it can be countered by a charging tank or flank maneuver, or simply ignored.
These are the reasons why many pub players think the KV2 is "op." it all comes down to map size and # of players on said map size. DEFAULT is ALWAYS too small, and if played this way the KV2 becomes a better unit, if playing on a proper R6 map or with less than default players, you will see the KV2 likely does not need a nerf.
well shoot i derped up then
what happened? it had the worst infantry (other than charge), tons of useless units, the list goes on. any replays i can watch?
1) The shock infantry can be deadly especially in 1v1 bc the flamer will attack on his own... this free's up micro
2) the charge cp cost is non existent plus you can attack multiple flags with that many units..
3) t60 is the best infantry killer in the game, and while it can be countered by luchs, the t60 many times came out on top or simply can track and avoid.
4) The t3457 at 500 mp is very hard to counter with a chinu 400mp, or pz4G at 420mp. The only true counters are Japan 75AA at 550mp, or Pz4H at 600 mp for Germany, both pricier options in a match against allies that already have superior infantry numbers and more mp bank typically.
5) smg is 2nd best smg in the game - only reason its not better than type100 is bc of price.
want more? :)
They are not the best on urban maps imo though - as most of the factors i mentioned can be nullified. see Kreuzberg..
awesome. The semifinals and finals should be played this weekend I believe. They will be live streamed: www.as2gaming.com - click on Live Stream tab.
You are likely thinking of a few patches ago (6-10 months ago)- the Soviets were considered pricey before but still used a lot, I don't remember exactly what changed or maybe it was just the competitive meta. I think some of their tank prices may have come down a bit though - I'd have to review the changelogs.
