No Wheelchair heroes promotes ableism - heres why thats problematic.
Disability is rarely seen in entertainment and is often portrayed in stereotypes, I’m always surprised how meaningful it is when I feel represented. The feeling of seeing even a glimpse of who you are in a positive light is profound. It’s a nudge that you are not alone, and more importantly, that you are welcome.

So why is it, that a game that has VolkSturm units, historically accurate and something that gives the developers a PERFECT opportunity to show solidarity with the disabled?? because right now? The lack of representation — or even worse, bad representation — can reinforce stigma.

We are GAMERS, we are badass, we kick ass and we dont take no for an answer. We will NOT be defined by your outdated views of problematic patriarchal ableism.

Almost always the good guys are big, beautiful, bold, muscular, and the bad guys are disabled, disfigured and have something wrong with them. They are always angry at the world, always mad about life, and therefore they are going to do this horrible thing, like blow up the world because they are disabled.

Hi, my name is Cohen. My goal is to normalize representation within the world us gamers find ourselves in, by reflecting on the diversity, inclusion and equity of the real world.

And if the devs DO decide to listen to a terribly oppressed minority, take note: wheelchair users are not a one-size-fits-all category. You never really see them move their bodies in ways other than just arms push, neck turn, mouth move. There is such a wide spectrum …

Who's with me? Lets say bye bye to the outdated world view. Lets say YES to inclusivity, lets say YES to include weelchair bound volksturm being heckin BADASS, wholesome , giving a big heckin middle finger to ableism & ageism while they shoot up the baddies and take names. Nothing is tragic. they ARE perfectly made. They will not apologize for the space they occupy!

Just like your other closed troll thread, please stop trolling. The game has ended development long ago.

Show me some historical evidence of wheelchair bound soldiers being on the frontline of any war?

Not to mention you can not consider the Volks units as serious combat units. They were hodge podge cannon fodder thrown up by the desperation of the Nazi regime.

Now representation is important for sure, but this is not really the place to be making such arguments. You ought to be directing your views at the game designers such as EA, Ubisoft and Bethesda who are the ones with who need this sort of reminder.

More over forcing representation for no reason but to tick a box is in a way worse than allowing representation to happen normally. It is not accurate to real warfare to have seriously injured or disabled individuals fighting. I find it funny how a real aspect of representation here (Female russian WW2 soldiers and tank crews) is ignored by you in favour of forced historically inaccurate representation.

I had a seriously disabled buddy throughout college and my early 20s who unfortunatly died of cancer some years ago training to be a EU translator. Not once did he ever complain that people like him werent represented in video games. He played RTS games with bombastic heroes and FPS games with able characters. He enjoyed those games.

Video games are not here to JUST represent real life. Some games are just that...games. Why dont you redirect your forced representation rubbish to those in charge of the star wars license. I hear it went really well...

It's actually worse than this as well.

The OP well knows that this title hasn't been in development for a long time now. So this forum is just being used to promote the OP's divisive, trolling, topic. It has no relevance to this game whatsoever.

I’m sorry to hear about your loss. This is why inclusion and accessibility ramps are so important

What more can be done to create a safe environment for wheelchair inclusiveness? How can we include them where they don’t feel left out??

How can we make them feel like they’re in a badass heckin avengers movie ?

Report the troll and move on, folks. OP copy/pastes these posts simply for their (very, very strange) sense of humor.

What if wheelchair bound POC don’t currently feel safe? How can we show more empathy and understanding towards this marginalised group?

disabled POC are NOT objects or playthings. They would fit in perfectly fine as volksturm. Making them vehicles would mean the player could repair it which would indicate something is broken, which promotes ableism and that is problematic
