For multiplayer games u can edit the settings ( max CP/total CP). 1 is the total amount of CP you will get as the game goes on, so like 5-50k or something along those lines. so say u set it to 20k total, u will get(iam just saying random numbers....) 1 cp every 2 sec, if u set 40k u will get 2cp every 2 sec. along those lines, again, random numbers, but u get the point.
other can be considered total amoutn of units on the map for you, so if max is 200, u can have say 4 units worth of 50 points, or 100 units worth 1 point, the stronger the unit the moe CP it is.
Also AS2 has a system, that if u lose units(in multiplayer), u get a certain amount of CP back, depending on the unit. Its liek that so steam rolls are less frequent if player skill is close.
And yes there are mod for infinite CP/SP

you are definitely confusing/mixing cp with mp my friend. they are 2 different things and keeping track of both is important. you do not gain cp at all during hte game, whatever it is set to at the start is what it will be - standard is 100cp, you cant go over as it limits you from buying over - this is why it is important most times to diversify your army composition. Mp is what is gained during the match from a low to high amount depending on early/mid/late game with regards to the amount of time. This is what you use to buy units.
But he should get the point ))
