Why is this game AS1/AS2 probaly the worst game to lose in / Rage
Why is this game AS1/AS2 probaly the worst game to lose in / Rage?

I find this game and it's predecesssor compared to other games really brings out the rager bad loser in people. I can feel the frustration too..
Why is that?

I can think of some at the top of my head... why do you rage?

Random crew injured? The luck factor may sometimes be deciding in close games.. but really not a deciding factor in most.

Lag at worst moments? this is one im sure everyone has problems with.. you do blame the lag someitmes when losing, even though you did alot of things wrong.. people seem to solely blame this.

too many grenades? i hate grenade micro rages me when someone players that way!

Game is semi realistic, i cannot think of a game I rage in that is cartoony in graphics..

and rage over "noob team" or "noob teammate" that maybe made one mistake or was doubled and needed help, the lag and optimization maybe a reason it was a problem in AS1 and AS2 promised to fix it and it's even worse now

I do rage when i lose sometimes. But most internally, then i self introspect to see if i did something wrong..

I played many games but this one brings out the most excitement and negative emotions. Like in age of empiers 2 competitions I never raged once when lsing. In counter strike competitions I never raged at all, maybe a one second bullcrap headshot rage... Chess competitions not even close to raging, was always i did something wrong.

It's definaly the luck factor which induces rages from time to time. Or maybe a mistake I make and I'm unable to forgive myself. Thankfully I keep my rage inside and very rarely rage at people these days.

Maybe the most frustraiting thing is knowing there is a reason why you lost, like some bad luck, yet you feel your opponent now believes himself the better player?

That's true, when people gloat and think there a better player. When you had a newibe on your team or a high ping. I rage at that internally, that 1 new player on the team is a huge deficit. Then the people in the arrange team your playing taunt you after winning.

i do rage quit sometimes but i keep it minimal recently i raged of unbareable lag and how such lag wastes chances of turning the game around, but let's say this is as1 and it's the good old days i wouldn't rage i just bottle it up inside till i blow up in some russians face in game chat and then get squiggly lines as a reply but that's rare

You are right Strat.. it's a good observation that I have noticed in the short time I have been in the community. Every game can be frustrating and rewarding at times, which is the reason you play them. It seems that MOW is different though.. my take on it is because each game there is a build within the match itself.. while there are many small battles/skirmishes and individual shootouts during the match, often times theres a point in mid/late game where there is a deciding action that greatly influences the game (assuming you have a balanced game and it actually gets that far). This action can go for you or can go against you. Since there is much more build up (20 - 30- 40 minutes invested) and this action can greatly swing the game i think it causes raging etc... Unlike counterstrike etc you die you come right back and start again.

Personally I do not rage, I am knowledgeable enough now to know if I make a mistake or make multiple mistakes is why I lost or why my team lost. I still have never quit 1 game and will not.

Also, if you play with new players you have to anticipate helping them, you cannot simply concentrate on your side and leave them out to dry and than rage. Communicate! Any good player can greatly help a new player by communicating and basic coaching during match.

Well i rage due the luck factor.. And lag factor too( when my tank just decide to turn itself)..
Thats all. There are better players than me and that whts keeps me on... Try to improve....

as much as I hate to say, new player team mates really make you rage if they don't know the basics as in buying buying a 2pounder or AT infantry start instead of assults/rreg Which i see even veterans do, and they wonder why they lost.

RE helping new team mates, i actually think for some players dominating your side to spawn then flanking the enemy works alot better. Usuually if i give 2 flags the same attention I will not be able to really get even 1 of the points.

But you could also defend 1 flag and attackthe other. Defending is very easy vs most players. But attacking is alot harder vs most players that are no newbs. Suppose really depends on how skill full the players are, it's not very forgiving this game in skill levels. A average player wil rape a new player, a above verage player will rape the average player, and the super good player will rape the above average player all easily. Because unlike other RTS, the smallest unit can kill anything. .. which means every unit in the field is as Potent.

Unlike other RTS where you can't have the zerling kill the protos carrier.

True path finding and tank turning for no reason + units you selcted previously move when you selected another unit!!! most ragey

I think it is because there are many times that you put a lot of effort or energy in something in the game but the game does not reward you for it and instead give you nothing.

The rage factor was here since the first MOW. My personal rage goes to:

- (The lobby God) hosts that stack on hilly side of farmland, choose GER vs URSS, wait a for least on noob to join the other side, swith to USA vs JAPAN ones sec before start.
- (♥♥♥♥ Quasis) people which respect no rule of civilation. One land seems to be the most contributor...let me close it here...
- (The solo climber) teammates that ignore this is a team game. No comunication at all, duplicate buys, not even an help request when they get overrunned.
- (The frontline fanatic) nothing bad against frontline, but building sandbags in the most remote flag, followed but barbed wire....is not helping in assault zones
- (The over-optimistic) people that charge a flak with infantry squad or a tiger frontally with t-34 76.
- (The "In plug we trust") Poor people that can not afford a good internet connection, especially refered to some in leaderboards.
- (The lag factor) when in direct control, your tank does a 360 deg turn after you shortly click left arrow, after it takes 1 sec only to select units, and your gun will charge the tank instead of firing...rage only rage!

Raging has to do with a mindset. Path finding can be solved just by experience. Luck factor can be minimal by proper positioning. Games where you get a lot of crew injured are rare and can be counted out. Luck works both ways so you can also take advantage when you get lucky. Above all, playing 1000 games is not luck, it's statistics.

Lagg is lagg.

Linear and heavy paper-rock-scissors gameplay. You buy your units in specific order and if something goes wrong, like your P3J gets killed by Greyhound and your H gets killed by Croc, you know your screwed.

It took me to play Wargame to realise it. In AS2 they nerfed AT guns so that they can't kill tanks. For example, in AS1 2pdr AT gun had 50mm now it has less than 30. It is only good to take out light vehicles. In Wargame, almost everything can kill the heaviest tank. Protecting heavy tanks is harder than killing them.

Another thing is MAPS!!! What RedDragon did well is to provide all new and huge maps. I mean they are huge, It shows the devs listened to community feedback about small maps with bottlenecks.

Unfortunately, DMS haven't improved gameplay by providing better maps. Instead they gave us 2v2 Urban Garden, which makes paper-rock-scissors effect even worse.

NR1 reason for raquitting in matchmaking is BAD PERFORMANCE and lag. 9 out 10 people, before pulling the plug, will tell you, sorry, it lags.
