If the gun is a 75mm then it uses a 75 mm shell.
if a unit runs out of ammo, or is low on ammo, it will resupply the unit, but only onto a specific number. lower then the number of ammo that the unit spawns with. for some reason. but you can go around the system. drive a unit that needs to be supplied next to your supply truck, or vise versa. now wait for it to resupply to that number first. then take a soldier. let him inspect the unit that is being supplied. take the ammo out that it just got from the truck. put the ammo in the truck. now wait again for the unit to be supplied with more ammo. then take that ammo out again, and put it in the truck. you can do this for as long as you want. except if the supply units on the truck run out. or if there is no more space left in the truck. now, if youre done, now grab all the ammo that you put in the truck with your soldier, and put it all back in the unit that is being supplied. and boom. you supplied your unit with a sh!tton of ammo.
i also used this strategy once in a singleplayer mission to give a crusader AA around 2500 rounds of ammo. it was the literall definition of ,,remove enemyinfantry.exe? Yes.,, lmao
i also found out that vehicle supply truck is not available in skirmish game mode, which i played often with friends.
