Dealing with enemy artilery/ mortars
On the maps where you advance and capture a series of caps I usually have a problem when I cross roughly the middle of the map, where mortars/artillery from the far back of the map start pounding me as I move into the next zone. I usually get bogged down in this area as the big mortars combine with enemy reinforcement waves to smash and push back my gains multiple times. Right now I just get through it with brute force by sending waves of attackers on fairly suicidal advances for a couple of hours until the enemy is depleted enough for a big push to the end so my tanks can hit those big guns. I'm sure there are better ways to deal with them. I'm wondering what is considered the most effective way to deal with the long range mortars/artillery way in the back that start pounding me as I cross the middle of the map?

Well, what I found out was the best way to deal with them (although not so heroic): Their range ends behind the second line of capture points (from you point of view), so you can defend there until you killed them with either call-in artillery (US have air strike, UK artillery) or your own artillery (USSR has big howitzer, ♥♥♥♥ rocket artillery), although there you could get trouble with range.

With Germany things are a bit different, as they have no long range artillery in these type of maps. Try to shoot the AT's with tanks while staying out of their base artillery range, then use german steel combined with infantry to rush the base.

Also, try not to blob your troops together, as this artillery is designed to counter that ;) Just practice, you will get better, mowas 2 does not forgive your mistakes

lol all i did on US to deal with the artys is just the US airborne, theyre a lot cheaper and often the airstrike of the US misses because jack the ret4rd misses in his plane with his rockets and his low accuracy. Also since the artys are pretty much in the very very far back yes indeed your US airborne will most likely die but they still have enough time to throw AT nades at the arty. also if you get lucky some will maybe survive to also destroy probably the second arty, if you get very lucky you could destroy an AT gun with it, and maybe even sneak up to an incoming tank? but its pretty much a one-target-use. your chance of killing two birds with one stone is very low with that. like Semoth said, you can also kill arty with arty. thats pretty much the only other way to kill them effectively.
on germany, yes indeed its damn hard to deal with them. what i always did was pick off all the AT guns one by one with a stug or goliaths... then you can easily just send goliaths to destroy the artillery... also, if your goliaths get rekt by infantry, try to drive your goliath on the very edge of the map and in bushes to hide it, if that still doesnt work, get a wirbelwind, that will deal with all the infantry. now all you have to do is just drive up to the arty with goliaths and boom. theyre dead.
