I'd say something like that yeah. Just the Graphic 3D type of control and ofcourse something that has to do with swords banging together.

You mean an RTS or an FPS? If you want a medeival FPS, go Mount & Blade or Gloria Victis. For an RTS go Total war (Roman era, some other eras too I forgot). I don't think any medeival RTS games have direct control though. Total War Rome 2 has a unit camera where you can get down on the ground with the soldiers, but the most you can do is order them around in that view, they do all the fighting.
