Anyone have any help? I do all of this work and then the text is all gone when i save.
TIA
Men of War Assault Squad 2\localization\mission
I have a mod which I subscribed to from the workshop. I am trying to edit the mod for myself (I am single player user). I have been able to edit and save the map. I have been able to edit and save the mission. Everything saves and works correctly as far as purchasing and spawning the units that I added/changed but the text goes away.
The exception/problem is that the text that I save for the units purchase tab under the F9(mission properties) / reinforcements expand / mission reinforcements / text expand / text browser does not save. Or better put it does not link after I save the mission and map and then play the mod. The Text Browser tags / items that I add remain as long as I keep the editor opened. They remain in tact and work properly in the F1 mode but when I exit the editor and load the game everything works but the text and hints are gone.
I notice it is in long form and then changes to $/”text” when I reload back in the editor. The text browser erases everything that I put in. Everything else works fine and saves fine.
TIA for any help you can provide.
You're editing a pre-existing mod text file, through the text editor in the game editor?
Have you tried saving the mission as a separate file, then saving the text file?
When you look in the localization folder, is your text still there?
If so, I think the mission is taking priority of the mod's localization files over yours.
I appreciate it.
Anyway I found a solution for this.
Instead of adding the text in the text browser or through the reinforcement menu. Just fill in the names you want to appear in your menu. Problem fixed, no point having a redundant reference.
hope this helps someone, took me days to figure out.
