File Names and Editing Files
So, I am wondering if you can change names of map files or mission files like in f2 and f3 mode. For example: An f3 file name is called Attack #1 but I want to change it to Defence #1. Is this possible? Also, I was wondering if I could delete certain maps or missions on f2 or f3 mode because when I got Men of War Assault Squad 2 I didn't know how to create custom battles or anything so I just went to a random map in f2 mode and then I saved it in f2 but then when I went to that saved file nothing was there but now I know how to create custom battles and everything. Btw I'm new to the Men of War series like actually getting a full game and not playing a demo.

Yes you can change the .mi file name. Though I believe it is usually called 0.mi.

You can select your map folder, and you will have to change the name manually from here.

You can delete the .mi file from the directory above. If you want to delete the f2 file, you just delete your "map name" folder.

Are .mi files the same thing as Single Player mission files? Or are they just a part of multiplayer map file collections?

.mi files are mission files. They're where things like scripts and triggers are stored

Mirage,
There is a mission called Brest with a .mi file
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2319028789&searchtext=brest
But I don't know how to load it to make it run as a mission.
When I subscribe to the mission, no new mission shows up in the Single Player campaign list. Other gamers have noted this.
Maybe there is some way to view it using the Gem Editor?

Go into GEM and press F3, then press escape and then "load". You should find it there

Mirage,
When I take those steps, it brings up two folders:
- Multi (It has a Brest file, but that file seems to only be a flat map with buildings, not an actual mission with troops and other playable units)
- Single (It doesn't have any Brest file)

Am I missing something?

Make sure to load the map in the F2 menu as well.

I am trying to figure out if there is something else I need to do, but I think not.
- I load the Editor.
- I press F3 and Escape, and then click "Load".
- I pick the Brest Folder, and then "Combat.mi"
- F1 changes the screen into gameplay style mode.
- After the ".mi" loads and I press Start, there are no fighting units that appear on the screen for me to command. There are "X" goal marks in the minimap.
- Pressing F3, F2, and F1 switches between different modes. It sounds like you could be saying that after you use F3 and load the map, then you ALSO press F2 and click Escape and then "Load" while in that mode. I tried doing that too, and what happens is that the same map loads, except that there are no X goal marks on the minimap this time.

Let me download the mod and look at it myself. I'll get back to you

It sounds like you are pretty familiar with editing. Nice.
The Brest map looks good geographically in terms of buildings.

I've played with the editor quite a bit since discovering it

I'll be able to give you answer later tonight, sorry for the delay

Ok, I've got an answer. Brest is a multiplayer map, so the only .mi file it has is one for Combat. You can find it in the multiplayer menu under the name multi/brest. I don't know which mode it's for, because it changed my game's language to Russian
