"An error was encountered while processing your request:"
"This item is currently unavailable in your region"

psn account would've been fine, but not with this ridiculously overreaching nonsense preventing 150+ countries from even viewing the store page or participating in the free beta. Sony learnt nothing from the helldivers 2 debacle and thought the issue was only it couldnt remove access to current owners.

Imagine purchase and play completely unrestricted on ps5 but despite sony having a large regional hq in your region its executives' children have to create psn accounts using vpns to play on pc, with the added consequence of multiplayer suffering from higher pings.

They didn't sell 25k. They probably sold maybe 1-2k? If even that?

Go woke? Go broke. Simple as.

you see this all the time, farcry 3 for an example has an estimated ownership of 5-7 million people on steam, but its all time was 23k,

palworld is between 17 and 20 million and its peak was 2,

hogwarts legacy has 5-8 million sales and all time peaked at 800k

the all time peak of this crap was day 1 and likely didn't sell much after, and it had 600, which is a bit lower than the other games but not that much i'm calling it lying.

remember this is the kind of game people will buy just to support the game because of its message and never play it, there are likely a few of those sales as well.

to make money back on the game alone, assumeing all the money from the sale goes straight to the people who funded this, would need to sell just under 4 million copies at full price, they would need to sell a little over 5.5 factoring in steams cut, no idea how the sales on sony would work

this game was never going to hit those delusional numbers, even if it had appeal

dont want to defend this game but you guys cant read numbers

if the steam ccu spiked 600-700 players, it's likely that there are one or two thousands of owners, playstation store probably did a bit better since they did try to push the game as "hot seller" and put it in the front page

i do think 25000 is quite the reach tho, maybe half as much
KeepYourselfSafe Aug 31, 2024 @ 6:16am
It could be 100.000 players and this would still be considered a comercial failure so far.
I hope it goes F2P since I kinda wanna play it again.

IGN has been shilling hard for DEI and woke projects so this is likely an overestimate. I never see numbers up on the community page

https://steamdb.info/app/2443720/charts/

estimates are based likely on crawling steam and putting together how many people own it.

these estimates get thrown off by free periods of time, but correct themselves over time.

No way this game has less than 100k copies sold. NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Jokes aside, I am really interested in reading Sony's 2024 Corporate/ Financial Report. And Ubisoft's, and Disney's etc
Article estimated 10k units sold were from Steam and 15k from PS5. How can you get 700 players on steam but sold 10k copies, the number doesn't add up.
It does add up, because people don't play a game all at the same time all day, so peak player count is always way less than actual sales. Steamdb shows concurrent players, not unique players. I think average game session on Steam is like 1-2 hours, it's not very long, and you can extrapolate some data from that if you assume the actual unique players change every 1-2 hours.

This is hilarious!

Wait, this IGN article was written by Rebekah Valentine? The same "journalist" who accused Game Science and WuKong of fostering a culture of sexism and misogyny?

She really LOVES WuKong, Never missed a chance to advertise the game.

IGN rates everything 7/10.
7/10 by IGN usualy means "game is trash but we can't rate it any lower"

Congratulations Sony, you have made 0.5% of the games budget. Only 4.75 million copies to go!
