No chuds, the price tag killed this game. The lack of advertising killed this game. The fact that its a hero shooter killed this game. The talking point is always "Go woke go broke" if its a bad game, and then ignore it if its a good game. Nobody liked this game from the start from any audience. Progressive people hated this game because its more multiplayer live-service slop. Chuds hate this game because they can't jerk off to it.

Dragon Age Origins was great, everything beyond was hated and ridiculed because of the trash content and rampant wokeness. Veilguard's trailer was so much hated I have little to no hope for that game either.

Dragon age was woke, and sold well. Inquisition sold very well and was reviewed well by outlets.

Starfield failed miserably.
Neither were "woke"... SF was close, and they definitely did a little nod to BlackRock, but they weren't egregious about it. Just a trash game.

BG3 was not "woke" - I've played the entire game. It had some over-sexualized character arcs that didn't make much sense and were super cringe like some fanfiction.

Saints Row 3 literally opens up with fan favorite Johnny Gat being killed unceremoniously off screen in the first five seconds of the game. But that's not at all comparable to how they handle franchises these days, right?

My point is that how they handled SR3 and up is exactly like how they handled the IP with the reboot - a blatant disregard of what made the IP so popular in the first place. Kutthroatballa and other YouTubers said as much over the years.

The reboot went off the rails with the millennial power fantasy BS, and 3/4/GOOH went off the rails with the Redditization, and at the end of the day, it's all a collective pile of mushy slop served by a bunch of dorks who wanted to "reach out to a broader audience" when, in all honesty, Saints Row never needed sequels in the first place. We didn't need 3 or 4 or a reboot at all. Volition would've been better off coming up with something new as opposed to "we tried nothing and we're all out of ideas" like everyone else has since 2008.

I understand what you mean but still, SR3-4-gooh trio is still unique to this day gameplay and setting-wise. I don't know if we even have anything close to the madness of these games. At the same time the latest SR didn't even deliver anything new and was generally a boring and bad game.
