Gollum was based on a mega-popular franchise. Of course it sold more.

You're under the illusion that game quality = game sales. It doesn't always work that way.

It's an illogical statement anyway.

That would mean he only cares about "talented" people playing the game. And who would that be? Other game devs? So they spent all that money just to make a game for only those from their own profession to play?

Insulting your potential audience is one thing, not being able to identify them in the first place is asinine.

If we are talentless hacks i wonder what his boss at Sony will call him when he has to explain to him that he lit 300 million dollars on fire.

Who was this ass-hat? A random dude or like a project leader?
Edit: Apparently it was @anim_xander, a former animator at Firewalk.

The short answer is pro-gamers.

At the current time even science can't provide a conclusive answer whether or not there is a drug in this world that's strong enough to make anyone believe that Concord could've been the next big esports title.

Huffing humongous amounts of copium does NOT suffice - we tested it and the maximum we reached was people believing Suicide Squad could make a comeback.

Talk to you soon,

If this was a third party game, I wouldnt say a word but since its "sony" and this looks like a dry year for them, I have a right to speak up what I like or not.

Gollum was complete ♥♥♥♥, like concord. Hence why they both have similar player counts.
classic dev moment, deleting the tweet and hiding his account

just like a typical IGN writer

OP was talking about sales, not concurrent player counts. Gollum sold a lot because it starred a well-known character of a well-known franchise. It even hit the UK's Top 10 Most Sold Games during its release week.
