I don't understand how this game took 8 years to make, but that is beside the point. This is the most damning evidence - the game was *literally* conceived right after Overwatch's success.
Since then it kinda went to crap with valorant taking top spot while being f2p.
This is what happens when they steer the ship blind, top down management that didn't bother to check the market to see if a pay to play hero shooter would work.
Nevermind the esg/dei, players will still play and buy stuff with it, but when something else better is already out and comes at the price of free, they are criminally negligent to their investors at this point.
Oh my God, it's a miracle. Someone actually understands what happened here.
It's the same as the Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. It's not an example of "Go Woke, Go Broke" - it's an example of trend-chasing executives trying to jump on every possible bandwagon. They had the developers of some of the most revered narrative-based single-player games in generations at their fingertips, and they said "We want an open-world live-service looter shooter with season passes and microtransactions." It was built to be exactly what the executives wanted, and exactly what gamers *didn't* want.
Having seen the contents of this forum today, anyone who knows this is clearly the minority.
My dude: I laid out very specific reasons for why I think this game is bad. Anyone who dislikes Concord for any number of reasons is perfectly justified for doing so. It's just the people hating it for incredibly stupid reasons that I'm calling out.
To be clear, what I "doubled down" on was their argument that anything was being shoved down our throats. It wasn't then, and it still isn't now.
Even if it were the first game to do an arena hero shooter it would've failed cause frankly we're sick and tired of this shoehorned diversity
We don't want forced/artificial dei in our games and we will continue to push this message until executives finally realize that we aren't the problem why the games with it aren't selling.
Then we'll come back to beat the horse some more as a victory lap.
