Darth Maul as PloKoon
This is ridiculous, i steamrolled through my favourite game, as my favourite character, but the final boss now has a CONSTANT stunlock on me no matter what i do. Perma blocks all my attacks, I can't attack fast enough, i have no items to do the aura item cheese.

Its like your meant not to beat him on Jedi Mode as Plo... like this is insane.

How to beat Darth Maul as Plo Koon:
-Target Maul
-Keep your distance, walk slow circles around him
-Use the triangle/Y attack. I don't know what button layout you use, but the two-hit combo when Plo Koon slashes his lightsaber forward.

If you do this carefully, you can hit Darth Maul from a distance, while being out of reach for his own attacks.
I just used a level 1 Obiwan and steam rolled him instead.

Plo used to be my favorite but I haven't gotten to the end yet so I don't even remember what the fight is like. I must have beat it years ago with Plo. Someone here posted a link to a youtube video of someone beating maul with plo to try to help someone that was having a problem, so it must be doable.
Ah yes. Plo Vs Maul. Back in the day (playing the PS1 version) with as many crashes, glitches, clunky controls, odd interactions, and sometimes unfair enemies (standard for that era of games), few challenges in this game made child me rage as much as attempting to beat Maul with Plo Koon. That challenge still haunts me to this day. However, it IS possible with persistence and determination. The solution is as clunky as the rest of the game. I believe Auditect already posted it. You have to keep your distance and strafe, slapping maul when you have an opening and stepping away. It may take a few tries, attempts, and perseverance to get the timing and distance right, but I assure you, Maul is very beatable as Plo (or at least he was in the original version).
yeah back on ps1 plo vs maul was the only one i couldn't do and given no guides back then to help i gave up lol, least we can try finding ways now like the guy above has mentioned

I have tried it myself, and now I am pretty sure in this remastered version Maul cannot be actually beaten by Plo Koon, not even in theory. I have tried to keep my distance, but he will ALWAYS block me, no matter what I do. Every single attack is immediately and effortlessly blocked, no matter the distance, nothing matters. I have seen videos of the original version, and the original Maul seems to move in slow motion compared to the new one, who is enormously more aggressive. Like, he now moves at 3X velocity compared to he original one. I can't even imagine a viable strategy to beat him with Plo Koon.

Well I actually hadn’t when I just checked a couple hours ago. I was thinking of when I did it on PS1. But I have just managed to do it now. How I did it was I locked onto Darth Maul, then I pressed XX and backed up, XX backed up, XX backed up. Sometimes he will block it but you just keep going until it works. For the end of the fight though, you will have to alternate between XX and backing up and using BB and backing up because his defence is much better in the last phase of fight and the environment is much smaller. Also if you get caught in his attack block and then after he does his jumping attack, back up and try and do the usual XX and backing up combo.

Dear God, I finally made it! Just barely though, I had 1 HP and no lives left, if he had landed just another attack I would have failed! The XX backpedal combo worked, but just barely. And I am starting to seriously think that my game is glitched somehow. The BB backpedal combo does not work for me. He either hits me before I can even commence the first attack, or rapes me with a full combo just after the second B attack. And, is it normal that he can kill you with just 2 combos? Even with the health fully upgraded? Sometimes he hits me, like, 5 times in a second, thus immediately depleting half my HP. Is it normal?

The BB attack defo doesn’t work as well as the XX one, but I’m convinced that Darth Maul can predict attacks when you spam them, especially in the final phase. I think the BB attack works well when you back up a couple more times than with the XX one because Plo’s lightsaber has greater range than you might think.

Also, regarding your point about whether or not it is normal for Maul to kill you in two hits, honestly? It depends on the character. I think Plo Koon is naturally a glass canon. I have been caught by Maul a number of times as that character with no chance of survival.

Adi? My new favorite, but ultimate frustration on Jedi, and grabbing that first challenge. I just can't get her 3 stars
