I love this game but Theed Palace is absolutely rage inducing

Honestly, if there's one bug the developers really should have fixed and changed from the original, it's Queen Amidala so easily dying near the end of this mission, and having her death reset you to the beginning of the level rather than the checkpoint. I've seriously killed every enemy on this level 4 times in a row (to get over 30,000 points) only to have a stray blocked laser blast kill her, or the Droid Deka, because the camera won't properly transition to the circular stairs area, so she get shots when you can't see her.

I love this game, but man, I wish there was some way to fix this, even if it meant changing the original intent of the sequence. Like just give Amidala double the health, or make it so she can't die, this mission is a completely buzz kill for the entire game.

I honestly don't even remember her dying in the original game. Did it always send you back to the beginning if she died?

Yeah it does, on the fifth try I finally figured out a strategy

1. make sure you walk all the way into the next frame, even if you think Amidala will get shot by the Droideka, and then have it engage you from the other side, don't block any shots and don't use any grenades.

2. on your way up the ramp, don't block any shots and don't use any grenades as both of these can hurt the Queen and send you back to the beginning.

You basically just need to run up the circular stairs ahead of her and mash on the droids to make sure she doesn't get hit.

I literally just run in front of her, killing droids and wondered if she is going to follow me. No one didn't even touch her.

soon as you talk to her, just book it out the room and kill everything then run back and trigger her to walk then rush up the ramp chopping all the droids out of the way... nothing ambushes her along the way so you can just haul ass
