You need to set the maximum difficulty (on high difficulty there are more enemies) of the game.

Defeat every enemy and every bug on the map. Try to make combos that bring the most points. Try to kill all enemies manually using combos. I went through it like this, there were literally 1500 more points than needed. I did not find any enemies spawns to make it easier.

f you take some character like Obi-Wan with fast combos you can get an additional +25-35 from each enemy.

there is a spawn i think, the boss does spawn pairs of gungans at you, no?
Sounds stupid, but you can suicide after a checkpoint to respawn a group of enemies that gives you a lot of points. It's during the part where you cross the wooden bridge.

The reason this works is the game saves your point counter when you take a checkpoint, so you are essentially clearing the same wave of enemies twice

I just play it on Jedi and did not have to respawn or anything.
First of all, you need to play it on Jedi difficulty. Secondly, when you get to the second or third checkpoint (the one right at the ruins), don't pick it up right away but instead, move in a little further and kill every enemy and pick up every item and bonus points, and then go back to pick up the checkpoint. Then suicide which will revert you back to that checkpoint that you just picked up, only you will retain your points and every enemy, item and bonus pickup will be respawned, so you can get them again and double your points for that section.

You can repeat the same trick towards the end of the level by killing some gungas first and going back for the checkpoint + suiciding. Also, if you pick a character with a ranged attack (like Panaka or battle droid), you can shoot every droid standing on that big green plain earlier in the level, before picking up a checkpoint on that plateau that you need to jump off of to proceed. Then kill yourself again and shoot them again.

Just use Padme on Jedi mode during those levels.

This, there are actually multiple checkpoints within this small area.

First one above the droid camp, if you have a character with a gun you can shoot all the droids down there first then pick it up and suicide to respawn them all.

Second one before the bridge as mentioned, don't pick this one up.. run around and kill everything, pick up all the other items especially the 1500 point challenge then grab the checkpoint and suicide.
All enemies and items including the challenge will respawn to be collected again, that's 3000 points from the challenges alone, and you can backtrack and clear out that droid camp again for the 3rd time.

3rd Checkpoint is at the ruins section, i'm pretty sure again you can collect this, die and backtrack all the way to the droid camp to farm the enemies and pickups again.

This is a very easy mission to get the point requirement on tbh.
