Has anybody been able to beat first boss as the Battle Droid?
This is specific to the second phase. No matter how hard I try I can't do it. Perhaps this is a bug that needs patched... unless I am doing something wrong? Any help on this would be appreciated. Thank you.

you need to force block lightsaber. Also you have to parry against them, if they shoot you until almost to you you need hold button for block to shoot them back
But you can't deflect the shot as a Battle Droid. You have to shoot the ship, but it seems like you are lucky to get one shot in.
“He has a gun how hard can it be to just shoot the-“ oh. I see.
To add to my fun, every few respawns my droid will lose his upper half and be unable to use any attack except for the running kick until I die again. Fun stuff.
Yeah, same here. I think this issue needs to be reported to Aspyr.
I was able to beat the Droid Starfighter as both the battle droid and Captain Panaka. Shoot him when he's about to raise up to the platform.
Sorry if I sound ignorant but what do you mean by shooting when he is about raise up to the platform?
It's all good, so you know how when the boss comes up to shoot at you? Shoot him first right before he finishes his animation of shooting you. If you're using an xbox controller, then you can shoot with the droid by pressing B. With Panaka, it's the Y button.
Ah okay, so what you are saying is that you have to shoot him just before he is done shooting you? That makes sense. I will try that tomorrow and report back if it worked for me!

That sounds like the first phase, where he does two strafing runs then rises up. The post, and by extension myself, I believe are having trouble with phase two where his only strategy is to slowly strafe left and right with two standard battle droids spawning every ten seconds or so. Personally, I can't seem to find a good way to lead shots effectively, as the droid itself is slightly higher than the standard angle of attack for the droid, so it requires the auto-aim to kick in, but the auto-aim tends to not lead shots, so either way I miss.
Ah ok, for the second phase i just shot at it and that took care of things easily enough. I guess I was lucky with the auto aim.

yea i killed the boss with the regular battle droid, it was a pain, somehow u take barely any damage so u get allot of chances to try shooting, it seems to work mostly if you stand on like the left side, and shoot as its going toward the right n stuff so it actualy goes into your slow moving shots

Yeah it was a pain, but standing on the left is what I found worked best as well. Captain Panaka was much easier for some reason.
So standing on the left does the trick? I take it there is no effective way of dealing with the battle droids in tandem with that though.

Sadly it still didn’t work for me…

It's definitely about positioning, finding that sweet spot, and then working out the timing to shoot.

The blaster characters are really unoptimized for this lightsaber game, hitting your target can be incredibly awkward like this example, but also some fights can be trivialised by standing back and shooting (like Maul).

It's the kind of thing you'd address if you were rebooting the game.
