Do I have to play the first one to play this?
I read about this in a Norwegian paper, and it sounded good. Can start with this game?

It's entirely standalone so can be enjoyed without having played the first game, but my personal take would be it would be useful to have done so to get a proper introduction to the lore of this universe.

Is the first game good? How would you rate it out of 10? Any games to compare it to? Thanks in advance.

Very good, 10/10 based on the way I rate games (excellently accomplishes what the developer set out to do), and it turned out to speak to me personally as well, which is always nice. The only negative aspect of the game for me personally was the pervasive queerness, but it wasn't obtrusive enough to odiously distract from the positive aspects. Everything from mechanics and structure to world building and soundtrack was excellent. If you're interested in the series, I would start with the first game.

I mean it's a sci-fi title.
I absolutely agree, which is one reason that I wasn't so bothered by the portrayal of the characters. I'd rather not get into a discussion about particular themes here.

The first game is excellent. The story is so good it could easily be a Netflix series. The music is amazing so much so I would leave the game on while cooking dinner.

Get the Helion Collection, you get both, well worth the price.

it's crazy, gay people exist, you know this right? how horrible for you to be afraid of the world in which you co-exist with people different than you lol

Just to reiterate what others have said, the first game is really good. I'm a huge rpg have been playing for decades. My love of gaming was slowly dying, all the new games feel dead to me. Citizen sleeper really hooked me. The narrative and the game design. Sure it has flaws but I found a game fun for the first time in a long time.

I'm hoping this one is just as good.

No, BUT there are oodles of references up to and including returning characters from the last game that you wouldn't know (fitting I suppose) until you played the last one
Cool. Thanks, guys. I've bought the first one on sale. I'll start playing tomorrow.
