Unclear whether this is a bug or if I somehow otherwise failed to get my ducks in a row, but as far as I know I did everything possible to advance this Drive but still failed it:

I failed the early minor Drive Recruit Local Crew (on Hexport), despite having followed through on all available tracked locations. After I helped Femi, an NPC who was being attacked, I chatted with his sister Nia, who expressed interest in joining my crew, and I expressed interest back. After that, there was no further opportunity to interact with either NPC, tracking the "R___ L___ C___" Drive never showed anything on the map, and the Drive automatically failed when we left the station after finishing the major Drive Escape Hexport.

Platform: Steam/PC
Build version: 1.1.19 (would be nice to have this in the pause menu, not just the main menu)
Reproduction steps: Attempt to complete the specified Drive
What happened: Drive could not be advanced after a certain point
Expected behavior: There should have been further opportunities to advance the Drive

Bug: Glitch does not seem to be functioning as explained in the guide

The guide states, "Each level of GLITCH you gain will increase your chance of rolling a GLITCHED DICE [sic]. Each time you roll a GLITCHED DICE [sic] you clear 1 level of GLITCH." As currently written, to me this strongly suggests that you should never have more Glitched dice than you have levels of Glitch.

With my Glitch Clock set to 1 on the first cycle after leaving Hexport and entering the Far Spindle, I rolled 2 Glitched dice. I cleared both Glitched dice before starting the next cycle, lowering my Glitch Clock to 0 with the first one I used (the second had no effect, because my Glitch level was already 0). The next cycle, with my Glitch at 0, I again rolled 1 glitched die.

Either Glitch is behaving incorrectly, or it would be helpful to update the guide text to make it clear that (a) Glitched dice can appear at any time and (b) you can roll more Glitched dice than you have levels of Glitch. (Also, note that "dice" is plural, while the singular is "die"[www.merriam-webster.com]; this is a very minor error, but it could be simultaneously corrected if the text is otherwise being edited.)

Platform: Steam/PC
Build version: 1.1.19
Reproduction steps: Leave Hexport and enter the Far Spindle
What happened: With Glitch Clock at 1, rolled 2 Glitched dice; with Glitch Clock at 0, rolled 1 Glitched die
Expected behavior: Low chance for a glitched die with Glitch Clock at 1 (no more than 1 Glitched die); no chance for a Glitched die with Glitch Clock at 0 (0 Glitched dice)
Documentation: A screenshot[i.imgur.com] where you can see I have 1 Glitched die at the start of a cycle with my Glitch Clock at zero

I exited the game after starting the second contract (first one was the drone). When re-loading the game it re-runs the intro cut-scene (meeting Laine). I still have all the money/fuel/supplies from before I went on the second contract, but the only thing I can do is go to the rig and wait. Map shows "Belt Unavailable" and "No Active Contracts"

Platform: Steam/PC
Build version: 1.1.19
Reproduction steps: Quit game while in dialog at the start of second contract
What happened: Save game back and start and cannot progress
Expected behaviour ; Should able to load game and continue either before departing for second contract, or at the dialog where it quit.

ending up with a -1 skillpoint after buying a push upgrade that costs 2, while having 2 skillpoints available.

- Platform: windows 10
- Build version: 1.1.19
- Reproduction Steps: uncertain
- What happened: I'm in the spindle and just completed getting the memorydrive for Kadet, 1 day before the hunted clock appeared. I had 2 skillpoints so decided to upgrade my push ability to the second level. Stats increases I did without problem before issue happened: 1 push abiliy, 1 interfacing upgrade
- Expected behavior (what should have happened!): the skillpoint increase said it cost 2 to upgrade and I had 2, so I would expect to end up with 0 instead of -1.
- Any documentation (e.g. screenshots) are helpful but not necessary: there is a public screenshot on my profile showing the minus 1 skill point on the upgrade screen that shows also which stats I had at that moment.

Hi, this one isn't a bug. You would need to take this character on a contract to complete, as the drive steps say.

Hi there, this is not a bug as you gained some glitch at the end of the escape scene, then that glitch was expended by rolling those two glitch dice. Its easy to miss the moment the glitch gets added as its at the end of the scene!

Also we use "Dice" for plural and singular throughout the game for clarity and ease. This is standard practice in many TTRPGs.
Pause/Guide pages don't scale to fit an ultrawide such as 5120x1440 or 3840x1080. Main game screen is okay. Windows 11 24H2 / Game version 1.1.19

As mentioned, I had no opportunity to do that. She was not available as an option to select when I completed the Conway Signal contract, which I believe happened after I'd encountered her, though I have no way to check that now. The only NPCs shown when departing for that contract were Juni (unavailable to select) and Serafin (locked in), and I thiiiiiiiink I remember noticing that Nia was not an option. Nor was she an option when doing the contract to retrieve the item to exchange for the feed lines, at which point I had definitely already met her.

I think you misread my bug report. The problem is not where the initial level of Glitch came from (I assumed it was part of escaping Hexport, though I don't think that was communicated directly). It's that I rolled two Glitched dice with only one level of Glitch. (I used both Glitched dice that first cycle, which cleared the single level on the Glitch Clock.) Then, the second cycle, I rolled one Glitched die despite having no Glitch at all.

Edited to add: Now I suddenly have Glitch again (no clue where it came from, since it was not pointed out in any way), and again I rolled two Glitched dice with only one level of Glitch on the clock[i.imgur.com]. It's not a problem if this is an intended mechanic, but it's extremely frustrating that it isn't explain at all, and that the Glitch Clock feels like it randomly ticks up for no reason or without the game explaining the reason.

Edit 2: And now on the first cycle of a contract I have a Glitched die with nothing on the Glitch Clock[i.imgur.com]. Either this is really bugged or it's explained really confusingly.

If it's intended that you can get any number of Glitched dice at any time, regardless of the level of the Glitch Clock (i.e., I just had extremely bad luck), then that should probably be better explained.

I've been playing the game on PC Gamepass and appear to be stuck in the upgrade menu? I can't exit it.

As it says in the guide, glitch is EXPENDED when you roll a glitch dice.

So if you have 3 glitch and roll 2 glitch dice there will be 1 glitch remaining on the clock. This is what is happening in your examples. Meanwhile you are gaining glitch from encounters with Laine, not at random.

Hi, this one isn't a bug. You would need to take this character on a contract to complete, as the drive steps say.

I also had this problem. I had already finished the probe mission, so the only contract available to me was Karsten, which they couldn't come along on. If another contract had been available I could have made that work. Perhaps it needs to be easier to find the alternate crew or a better pointer provided. It's the beginning of the game, a STRONG hint what to do is not out of place here.
Madisj Jan 31 @ 1:04pm
The shipmind retrieval mission bugged out for me. I tracked the wires and then nothing happened on completion of that step, although I did get a notification that there were new locations available. Had to quit and reload to see "Port Node" and "Starboard Node" locations.

I'm guessing there was supposed to be a conversation there that I now missed?

EDIT:
Also in case it was the dialog that bugged out, my crew members were Yu-Jin and Juni.

Please stop assuming you understand what I am saying, back up, and start reading it again from scratch. Because you are fundamentally misunderstanding my concern.

I'll walk you through it again.

Gaining a level of Glitch: That's fine. It's not explained at any point in the game so far, nor is it called out when it happens after the first time (you just have to happen to look at the Glitch Clock to see it), but it makes sense. I think it matches up with what's been happening in the game (for sure the first time; probably the second).

Removing a level of Glitch: I have never been confused about this, and it is working as described. If there is at least one level of Glitch on the clock, rolling a Glitched die clears one level. (If the Glitch Clock is at zero, rolling a Glitched die has no effect.)

Glitched dice appearing at the start of a cycle: This is what is either bugging or poorly documented ("rolling Glitched dice" not in the sense of using an already Glitched die, but in the sense of the die's value being rolled by the game at the start of a cycle as Glitched rather than 1–6). I am getting more actually Glitched dice than I would expect, based on the status of my Glitch Clock and how the Glitch mechanic is described in the game. I have twice started a cycle with two Glitched dice with the Glitch Clock at one, and at least twice started a cycle with at least one Glitched die with the Glitch Clock at zero.

Again, if it's supposed to be possible to receive any number of Glitched dice at any time, regardless of the status of your Glitch Clock, with higher levels of Glitch just increasing the odds, that's fine as a mechanic. But it's not how the guide suggests it should work. Based on the guide, I would never expect to have more Glitched dice than I have levels on my Glitch Clock; and I certainly would expect to never see a Glitched die appear unless there is at least one level marked on the Glitch Clock.
