Is there a way to switch forms without singing? (With a controller)
I've just barely beaten the sun temple boss with alot of healing items, but I got the impression that to beat it properly I should've been able to switch forms quickly. Using energy form to hurt him, and switching to beast when he starts sucking/blowing me away.

But with the controller I have to return to normal form and then spend a couple seconds messing up my song before I finally get the desired effect, it's very clunky and difficult to pull off in a pinch.

I noticed in some of the videos I watched that using the hotkeys, you can switch between forms instantly without going back to normal form or reciting a song. Is there a way to do this with the controller or is this KB+M exclusive?

I played with a controller, and mapped all of the spells and form changes (keyboard 0 to 9) to the controller D-pad using JoyToKey[joytokey.net]. It has "button alias" mapping, such that the output from a particular button can be changed if a second button is also being pressed.

I assigned the spells directly to the D-pad, and the form changes to when one of the trigger buttons AND the D-pad is pressed. This is the full mapping I used:
Controller Alias Keyboard Action D-Up 9 Shield spell D-Right 0 Bind spell Button 17 LT + D-Up 1 Normal form Button 18 LT + D-Right 2 Energy form Button 19 LT + D-Down 3 Beast form Button 20 LT + D-Left 4 Nature form Button 21 RT + D-Up 5 Sun form Button 22 RT + D-Right 6 Fish form Button 23 RT + D-Down 7 Spirit form Button 24 RT + D-Left 8 Dual form
Also, using the in-game Options - Key Config screen, I assigned two more actions to the controller thumbsticks:
Roll: LS-click
Look: RS-click

As far as I know it's KB+M exclusive.

That's my understanding as well. Can only be done with keyboard.

Have you thought of usinging some kind of macro program? You could assign the hot key to some combination on your controller. You probably don't need to assign every form, maybe just energy and beast.

Thanks for the help, I guess I'll try to wing it and reach for my KB when I have to, or if that fails I'll try jDog's suggestion.
