This game is too random.
Don't get me wrong, I think the combat is very good.
But the intermission section is just too random and takes away the fun.

It is pure frustration to see no repair shop spawn for 2 intermission sections.
it is 3 fights back to back to back without any heals.

And the game encourage me to try using different weapon combinations by simply randomize the weapon drops.
Yet the intermission section makes me want to be passive and just wait for my desired weapons to spawn.

It always feels like a defeat is 80% luck/20% me
And somehow I am getting a feeling of the intermissions are actively programmed to work against me.

Lastly, what the hell is the purpose of putting a repair shop selling a 1600 dollar upgrade after the very first fight, when the maximum I could get from the first fight is 1550 ????

1: repair shops are relatively common, you're just getting unlucky
2: yes... the game is a roguelike. being a roguelike, it's random. That's fundamentally how the game is made. If it was guaranteed stuff, it wouldn't be fun anymore. Part of the fun is adapting to the circumstance you're put in.

I think a good roguelike game should give the player certain type of control.
For example, Hades.

The player can't control what happens along the journey.
But at least I can control my play style (weapon).
So I can get practice and familiar with the weapon.
So I can improve, git gud.

And in this game
I am forced to use whatever weapon it randomize me to.
And getting bored caz the weapon is just not my jam.

Always buy repair kits when you see them, you never know when you'll need them.

No offense but it sounds like maybe rogue like games are just not your thing? Making due with the random nature of what you get is a big part of any rogue like.

That said, check out the road map; more ways to customize your run will be coming.

You.. can though. While I agree some weapons are really rare (such as the blastwave gear), most weapons are relatively easy to find if you look for them. In general use these tips to find what you want
Advanced Gear Contracts generally give weapons such as Buzzsaws, Slim Axes, and Blastwave gear
Blastwave contracts give, well, blastwave gear.
Nailgun contracts give nailguns
Physical contracts give knuckle balls, bombas, and wrecking balls
Grab contracts give grappling hooks and fingers
As for shops, I'm not too sure about those. I know Pugg has more blastwave/nailgun gear, however.

you can change starting loadout to default fists if you want
This game is definitely not like rogue. It's just an arena fighter with randomized items. No leveling system, no magic, no proc gen. But that doesn't make it a bad game, it's just a false claim causing hundreds of people to fomo buy it, just to feel deceived.
it is absolutely a roguelike, have you ever played:
dead cells
risk of rain
clone drone
ship of fools
balatro
etc
roguelikes dont have to have proc gen or magic, they are literally just arena fighters with permadeath where you get random items and random scenarios

None of those things is required to a be a rogue like. I mean..magic, seriously? A rogue like has to have magic? What planet do you live on?

Tell us you don't know what FOMO means without telling us lol.

Do you not understand the difference between a Rogue, Rogue-like; and Rogue-lite?

I beat the game in highest difficulty no problem.

It is not a hard game overall.
therefore it is as random as it should be

The game could get better if the 'randomness' is optimized a bit more.

It is just pure frustration when I see the game decided to NOT give me any repair shop for 3 fights, then spawn 4x alpha dogs in multiple waves back to back to back.

Then in the next run the game suddenly become 'too easy' because the game just decided to spawn suicide bombers only.
