Homeworld Classics - fighters will not dock anymore

I love to play classic game. I am playing it regularly for many years now. But last month, something weird started to happen. Every time I issue command to fighter class ships to dock to mothership, they just circle around the mothership and never dock. In order for them to dock, I need to select smaller amounts of them, bring them very close to the mothership bay-door (on the same z-axis level) and only then they will dock.
This never happend to me before, like ever! I was always able to issue docking command to them from the other side of the galaxy and forget about them. They would fly back and dock without supervision.
I don't recall installing any update of the game recently (only Steam was updated).
Anybody with the same issue?

I have to manually fly them to the same level of the Mother Ship Dock and then they will dock. Its a broken mechanic.

I've seen multiple threads on this topic and not a word from the Devs...

When I submitted a ticket on the website in December, they said "we are aware of the problem and a solution is being worked on" but nothing more than that.

Yep, this appears to still be broken. Was feeling nostalgic after trying the Homeworld 3 demo and now I just feel a little sad.

What I do when I find a unit not responding, click that unit, clock Stop, then give it orders again. Happens a lot in HW2 RM PP on the rare occasion the PP actually works!

Howndo devs screw up one of the best older games I have ever played. I played homeworld for hours trying to beat it and as a kid it was incredibly difficult. But it was so fun as there was no games like it and in my opinion still isnt any game quite the same

For HW Classic you can play as the Taiidan for the story. They dont seem to have the same issue as the Kushan with docking

for all the good it will do me i did post a support ticket to the devs. Maybe they'll have another look hadn't played steam in ages and started with this game.

Yeah, it was nice to be able to play this on Steam when it didn't have this docking issue.

I have a reply which seems to confirm they are not updating the game anymore.

Alita here from 2k support, a pleasure to meet you. At the moment I can see there are no current plans to implement an update for HomeWorld Classic.

I did find a work around, all though it's disappointing they sell a game so heavily bugged.

And the saddest thing is, we don't need any update. What we actually need is to remove the previous update which screw this up.

Of course, it doesn't make a lot of sense why classic would even be affected like this.

Dock=0 should probably be Dock=1

I wouldn't be surprised if that's the extent of the problem.
