why browser and cellphone games are taking over the market.
Not really even. You just need to realize that the AI doesn't properly react to your Salvettes and snatch every capital you can. And then it's literally just sending those straight into the enemy, no tactics required, since the balancing between ship classes is really off and capitals dominate everything, at least in HW1R.
HW1 classic was definitely a difficult game, HW1R? No not at all.. One huge AI feature that the AI abused to no end in the classic that isn't present in Remastered is ship ramming.. Carriers, khadesh motherships were awful in this regard.
Unfortunate truth.
The AI prioritizes Salvagers first then goes down hill. Using my above tactic and its been a cake walk. Like on the 3rd mission. I sent in 3 scouts and pulled the enemy to the mothership and they attacked in 4 or 5 waves of ships I took from the enemy. Sat and took the one assault craft they sent every 5 minutes just for a good laugh.
Example: Gardens of Kadesh. Without knowing that you're going to get hordes of fighters thrown at you, you may not have prepared enough anti-fighter ships, if you haven't prepared enough of those, then the rest of your fleet goes bye bye fast.
Then, once you finish that mission, and your fleet was wiped out because of it, you're left with nothing, and not enough resources/time to build back up. Thus, dead, and the asteroid mission prior doesn't give you enough resources to build up a sufficient fleet, so you need to go back before that. Very frustrating.
This lack of respite for building up can mean you get stuck, several missions in, because you messed up several missions earlier not preparing for something you had no idea to prepare for, and while I still love the game, and the campaign, it's a pretty big design flaw. I suppose it can be slightly averted by saving at the end of every mission.
Still, to everyone saying it's easy. Maybe if you know what to expect, know exactly how to play the AI, and the exact mechanics of the game. That doesn't make it easy though, that just makes you proficient at it because you've played it so damn much already.
It's like me saying Kerbal Space Program is easy, because I've spent hundreds of hours learning it, and it's mechanics. It just means I've gotten good at it. No need to bunch such a bunch of pissbabies about someone finding it hard because you don't anymore.
Kadesh - all missions before this one Taiidans trown hoards of fighters at you. How exactly you wont be prepaired? Yuo dont have strice craft? Well Assault frigates will do (even better since swarmers wont damage them much) heavy corvettes and suh will also suffice and even if you dont have them - you have some time at start to harvest and there is multigun tech which is designed especially for such occasions - fleet command tells you to use it. you should try realy hard to be wiped out in this mission or ignoring everything on previous ones.
the only mission which you can and will most probably fail without knowing in advance is securing all 6 cryotrails since you need to act quick and have ships needed.
Because Taiidans use much smaller numbers, and don't throw that at you all at the same time, but in waves, making them much easier to deal with, with a smaller fleet. Also the game gives you research, like defenders, that you'd assume would be useful (after all it gives you them and advises you to use them to counter the enemy) but instead get eatten up in moments. Yeah I tried multiguns, they were about as useful as throwing jam at the enemies. See previous statement about research.
And all of your advice is moot. Once the swarmers are swarming you, it doesn't matter, that's game over. Any frigates you build will be wiped out in seconds as the swarmers focus them, same for corvettes.
Also the resources you get are pitiful in these levels. The only real way to beat them is just to amass a fleet (of assault frigates) before hand. Which, as I said, is preparing before you know what to prepare for.
