Report a translation problem
To undo a control group, just you have to re-assign it (maybe you can actually undo it, I don't know, never needed that, but this works for your example): If you have a group of units assigned to group 1, and want to split it select the units you want to be in group 1, assign them group 1, now only those units will be in group one, and the others will not be in any group.
And to the Salvettes: Yes, they are ridiculously OP right now. The whole campaign is laughably easy if you just capture all frigates and later capital ships you encounter, even though there is scaling difficulty - and yes, the main problem seems to be that the AI doesn't react to the Salvettes at all.
