How do you select all units from the same type? How do you undo a control group?
I played this at a friend's house and got frustrated at the fact that there seems to be no way to select all units from the same type. Also, how do you undo a control group? For example I set a bunch of units to to group 1, then I decided I wanted to split that group into two, so I took half of them and added to to group 2. But the ones i added to group 2, are still part of group 1.

So a unit can be part of multiple groups apparently, which causes problems. Say I send group 2 to defend the mothership and then group 1 to chase some enemy stragglers; since from my previous example every unit I moved to group 2 is still part of group 1 what would happen is ALL units will end up performing the last order I made. Is there a way to deal with this problem besides manually re-selecting units everytime you want to issue an order that requires a group of units to execute?

This issue is the main thing stopping me from buying the game. Also I don't get what formations do, they seem to be kind of useless. Can anyone explain?

Oh and finally, why are corvettes able to adbuct ships that are at full health without taking any damage or risk or anything? On mission 2 where ships are attacking life boats you're supposed to kill 1 of the ships and adbuct the other. Killing 1 of them takes longer than just abducting them both and you take no damage when you take the ship, you do when you try to kill them since they'll counter attack. It just makes no logical sense, if 2 ships come up to me and start dragging me away I'd be firing at it and trying to outmaneuvre it like crazy, not just stand there and let myself be taken away. That's stupid.

To select units of the same type double-click them.

To undo a control group, just you have to re-assign it (maybe you can actually undo it, I don't know, never needed that, but this works for your example): If you have a group of units assigned to group 1, and want to split it select the units you want to be in group 1, assign them group 1, now only those units will be in group one, and the others will not be in any group.

And to the Salvettes: Yes, they are ridiculously OP right now. The whole campaign is laughably easy if you just capture all frigates and later capital ships you encounter, even though there is scaling difficulty - and yes, the main problem seems to be that the AI doesn't react to the Salvettes at all.
