Mothership formation!?
How do i get frigates and capital ships back into formation with the mothership after moving them around?

Well i found it. As in Homeworld 1 you're supposed to select ships, add the mothership and then activate parade formation (Shift+P).

But it's broken... Some ships form up, but half a mile behind the mothership, others ignore the command completely.

Gawd i just played the first 5 missions and encountered so many bugs, gliches and questionable design decisions i'd rather go play the original again.

I knew i shouldn't have bought a gearbox game ... lesson learned.

It does seem like a bit of a buggy release, but I've otherwise been happy with it. Most bugs seem minor and hopefully they'll fix in future patches.

The only super annoying bugs I've found were with Diamond Shoals where the mission wouldn't end (I had a white sensor around the MS and I had nothing listed under objectives, and once I cleared the asteroid field no cinematics or videos triggered) and the game got stuck in Cinematic Mode after I beat Cathedral of Kadesh, athough saving and reloading let me get back into the regular view so I could hyperspace to the next mission.

Oh please...

- When loading my first selfmade savegame, the game crashed (something about not able to find opengl device) and locked up the computer.
- Next mission, i clicked something during a cutscene and suddenly the camera jumped "away" to black space and i couldn't get back to game space (game was still running and reacting sound-wise)

- Parade Formation broken
- When guarding ships intercept an attacker they completely forget the guarded ship.
- When giving move orders to larger groups of frigates/capitals some regularly ignore the order and stay in place.

- In 2x GUI size mode, everything is way too big. In 1x mode the size is fine but ship type counters are unreadably small.
- Queues option shows empty lines, doesn't display research queue when credits are empty.
- Queues option has "X" buttons that don't seem to do anything...
- When clicking empty space, Build/Research window should close. Very annoying having to move the mouse up right all the time.
- When scrolling through Build/Research windows in list mode the main view camera shouldn't react.
- Rightclick-move implemented poorly. Regularly give move orders accidentaly when i wanna rotate the camera.

That's just from the top of my head after 2h of playtime...

Finished the game. 3 Bugs.
2nd Mission. Destroying the Carrier before you get the Data from the destroyed ship won´t let you finish the mission.
Ghos Ship Mission. Destroying the Ghost Ship without bringing/losing a frigatte to it allows you to destroy it thus blocking anyway to finish the misson.
Wasn´t able to make any formations/guarding the mothership but otherwise I didn´t encounter any bugs.

Things in need of rebalance on the other hand, there are a couple but that´s because HW1RM is basicly HW1 with an HW2 Interface.
Attack Frigattes make Mincemeat out of nearly anything except Corvettes.
Ion Frigattes are only good against frigattes, Carriers and Motherships but thats as advertised.
Destroyers/Dreadnoughts kill everything (4/2 versus 30 Frigattes[Attack and Ion roughly 20/10 without a single loss for me])
Variocovettes are crap at killing fighers (or anything else for that matter.)

Hope they didn´t change the VS Bonuses of HW2.

so did i.
in the first 5 missions i had to repeat each one at least 2-3 times because of bugs / glitches.
"a bit" anoying

Not a big deal, parade formation has no practical use anyway, just looks pretty.

Only way I have foung to get ships back into a "sort of" nice formation, well besides fighters and corvettes those you can just dock with the mothership or carrier and they will repair up and then come back out in a nice neat line.

As for the other ships what I do is move them to a location near the mothership and then press either the square, sphere, or wall formation, to get them into a tighter pattern that is sort of ok. It is not the nice neat lines the fighters and corvettes get when coming out after a dock command but it is workable.

It would be a nice "sort of" fix if Gearbox could make it so at the very least all ships can re-dock at mothership from where they were produced and then come back out in a nice formation to keep things neat and orderly.

At the very least they could implement this for Frigates, however even destroyers and carriers and cruisers should be able to go back in one by one to the BIG dock area they came out of when they were built or captured, and then line up properly after that. It would take forever but at least that would be something that might work.
