Resource collecting at end of mission.
there have been several posts on here already stating that you auto collect all outstanding resources when you hyperspace out at the end of a mission, but im not sure this is true.

The reason being, at the end of mission 5, i experimented and spent ages manually harvesting and got almost 13k resources. previously i didnt do this and just hyperpsaced out at first oppurtunity and got no where near this amount.

I'm wondering if it only auto harvests the resources that you have sight of?

Any one else had any experiene of this?

I harvest every rock before I HyperSpace as often you need all the resources you can muster to prepare for the next mission | fleet builds

I think that only happens in Homeworld 2, it tells you that the resources have been auto-collected. These kinds of mechanics are pretty much exactly the same as the originals.

There definitely is some form of auto-collection. I've been playing without collectors since around mission 6, and yet at the end of every mission I recieve a ressource boost, which is usually pretty high too (over 10k usually). There was one mission that was weird, can't remember which one, but there I only recieved a couple houndreds of RUs.

Coupled with OPs observation, I'm gonna guess it only auto-collects either visible RUs, or maybe also leaves out RUs from debris?

I tested and it seems if you autodock you get about 1/2 to 2/3 the resources left in the area. It's better to collect manually.

This is what I wrote inside another topic (it counts for both remasters):

Note, even though the game does do some auto-harvesting when you warp away to the next mission, it doesn't harvest all resources (sometimes you will miss out on thousands of RU!). So, you are better off harvesting manually. You can alt-tab the game and it will keep running in the background. I usually go watch some youtube videos or browse the internet while harvesting.

there is an auto collection when you are leaving but I think it doesn't work if there are enemies on the map. An example would be when you first hyperspace and send a probe to the wrecked ship, if you leave the map right away then you don't get anything.

I as well stick around and harvest everything!

Tried both ways, seems better to harvest everything, otherwise I get a small boost if at all. 10K boost? Jeesh, never got that. I guess the auto collect is half broken?

auto-collection is bad for me, cos while i collect resource i build or rebuild my fleet for next mission, but if i hyperjump may be lack of time to rebuild a good fleet to defend from attackers, i never liked the auto-resource system on hm2.

as far as i know only homeworld 2 every had the auto collect at the end of the mission unless they have changed it like i think they got rid of evasive stance from HW1 as well as the unlimited ship build amount you used to have. i think they also tweaked some of the ship stats as well.

If someone can find an official Gearbox statement on whether Remastered changes the Classic dynamics, that would be great.

HW1 didn't have unlimited build amounts, but did have unlimited capture, which was fun if not useful after a certain point. There was an alternate game among the congniscenti about having the biggest fleet at the end, reflecting capture tactics.

I just checked at the end of Mission 9. There is auto-collection.

better be harvest all the RUs in the map than be sorry. The auto-collection is a bit finicky.

I done some testing and it seems like if it will not auto collect resources that are not scouted. Even debris from destroyed capital ships are collected. I m guessing its still pretty buggy right now.

Either way, i entered the final mission with 210,000 RU's so you should have no problem with it haha xP
