Old Cd Keys Being Honored?

So I purchased homeworld, homeworld cataclysm and homeworld 2 when they first came out and then again when my CD's starting giving cheksum errors. All in all i've purchased two copies of each of these games and as such have 6 cd keys.
My question is will my original cd keys for these games give me access to the classic versions of these games? and if not...... then why not?

No, just kidding. But well, how they make sure it is a original key? Are there still saved lists of the original ones?

Not the same game. The company you bought the original games from has ceased to exist.

This isnt the classic homeworlds, but a revamp of them, so I would be shocked (pleasantly so) if old cd keys did anything

I very much doubt Gearbox or Steam has any way to verify old CD keys. Beyond that, the old Homeworld games aren't actually separate products on Steam, so I doubt they can be bought, sold, or given away as individual games.

While its already been stated by others here; it wouldn't be possible to honour the old keys because the company would need an actual list OF said keys - and well - I'm pretty certain that list was long destroyed.
