7 Battlecruisers on Mission 14 HWR 2
Ok, I resently desided to go through the campain for HW 2 again. I get to mission 14 and the enemy has 7 BATTLECRIUISERS! To put this in prespective, you are allowed to build a maximum of 3... I know this can't be ballance because they have a support fleet equal to mine and their dreadnaught counters mine. Can someone please tell me WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED!

How big is your current fleet?

Ya, that's about right. Thankfully, you have the ability to replace ships much faster than the AI does, so even though you'll lose some destroyers, you can still easily win that fight. I just did two days ago facing the same odds.

I took this at one point during Mission 14. It was a good time. haha

yeah I really don't like the ship scaling in this game, Why is there no difficulty adjustement thing or something. Whatever,

Does anybody have an idea how to install complex 7.4.4 for Homeworld 2 classic?

I lured the cruisers onto my fleet of destroyers and frigates, sacrificed them so my cruisers could attack from behind. While in the fight i let bombers take out the enemy's engines and missile launcherslaunchers. Lost all my destroyers but none of the cruisers.

The one unfurtonate thing is that I had captured 2 vaygr destroyers early on in the game and had managed to keep them alive the entire game... R.I.P. Dreams

I had also played the mission when the game first came out and only had to deal with 2 battlecruisers, Those were the days

Thats way I like original HW1 campaign over HW2 campaign. In HW2 campaign you pretty much have unlimited resources, ships explode all the time, you just need to keep your build queue full and keep pumping out replacement. :steamfacepalm:

Singleplayer campaign imo: Cataclysm > HW1 > HW2

Good news, I think I found a work around. The objective is to kill the shipyard, then kill makaan. Once I kill the shipyard the AI puts 5 battlecruisers and the dreadnaught where the shipyard was and only has 2 battlecruiserss and a handful of frigates, corvettes, and fighters gaurding makaan. I can sneak my forces around the majority of his and have enough time to kill Makaan before the rest of his forces can engage me. Then the cinimatic happens as usual and I move on *Hopefully*

My fleet is at max build cap. When I engage I take out most of his support fleet then his battlecruisers slowly chew through my frigates, then destroyers, and finally my battlecruisers as I am franticly retreating. I am lucky if I destroy 1 of his battlecruisers

Don't you have the phased cannon array thingy on the one protogenator ship? That thing can kill a cruiser in about 5 seconds. I lost mine that mission because I put it right in the front, but it actually took one or two out all on it's own.

Ummm... Are you sure about that... It doesn't do nearly that much damage

I just noticed the weirdest thing which makes me think my game is glitched. The entire Vaygr force can't deside weither to go to makaan's flagship or to go to the resources to the left of sajuuk. The fighters and covets continually turn around and the larger ships just go from pointing at one spot then start turning torward the other.

just tried my workaround with a slight difference. I pulled all my ships back to the edge of the map which drew all of the enemy ships away from the flagship. It was only defended by 3 bomber squads and a handful of turrets. I stuck a battlecruiser escorted by 2 destroyers and several fighter and corvette squads. The AI only pulled back half of their fighters and corvettes which mine held off long enough for the destroyers and battlecruiser to destoy makaan. Then the cinimatic happens and I never have to deal with the battlecruisers. All I lost were a few fighters and corvettes

On a side note I was thinking why we even bothered getting sujuuk (I say while watching it kill a battlecruiser with it's point defence... and nothing else)

In the original HW2 you could set all your resource collectors to repare your BCs. The enemy AI would prioritise killing the repare units over attacking your fleet. This should buy you enough time to take out most of their BCs. You can also micro your BCs with an attack move well behind your offensive line. This will sometimes cause the enemy AI to disengage.
