Homeworld Remastered Collection doesn't work in Windows 10?
Bought it today, but only Homeworld Classic works, HW 2 classic, HW & HW 2 remastered versions don't start in Windows 10, once I double click on it, the launcher panel just closes and nothing happens. What can be the cause of this problem?

I have 64bit Win 10 home , and it works fine , make sure your drivers are upto date , reinstall the vcdist etc , other than that , not much hope i am afraid.

I also have win 10 64 bit home on my Acer Predator 17 G9-791 gaming laptop and it runs perfectly on it which is why I concluded that 1 make sure your copy of Windows 10 is on the newest update (ie the fall update) and make sure your drivers is fully up to date and also post your system specs as well.

You could try a manual override..

Create a new shortcut on your desktop
Type the location of the item:

For Homeworld Remastered and Multi Player type
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Homeworld\HomeworldRM\Bin\Release\HomeworldRM.exe"

For Homeworld 2 Campaign type
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Homeworld\HomeworldRM\Bin\Release\HomeworldRM.exe" -dlccampaign HW2Campaign.big

For Homeworld 1 Campaign type
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Homeworld\HomeworldRM\Bin\Release\HomeworldRM.exe" -dlccampaign HW1Campaign.big

Let me know if that works.

It sounds like you could have a file mismatch, You could also try the "verify integrity of game files" option.
Goto Steam libray Right click Homeworld >>> Properties >>> Local Files >>> Verify Integrity of Game Files

Thanks for all your input, when I tried to run homeworldRM.exe as Xena95 suggested, now I got error message saying 'C:\Windows\System32\MSVCP110.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system adminitrator or the software vendor for support. Error status 0xc000012f.' :(

Solution found, have to run both vcredist_x64.exe and vcredist_x86.exe under C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Homeworld\_CommonRedist\vcredist\2012 folder first, then everything seems to work. :steamhappy:

Good for you at least you found your problem, its not the first time that any game crashes due to not having the vcredist x64 and x86 not being installed which steam already done it for you automaticly but didn't resulting in a person having due it themselves :steamsad:

I've been having trouble, I downloaded the Vcredist, both variants, put them in a folder I named _CommonRedist, repaired them both multiple times, yet it still does not work. Am I doing it wrong?
