Just checking that this was not added after the last post in 2018 mentioning it? bought the remastered awhile ago, and never got round to playing it. Have my old Cataclysm CD ( preferred the Mining Ship to the Mothership on 1 & 2 ), Both were great games , looking forward to playing them both again when I have time ... was hoping to take the old Mining ship for a spin again.

Good Old Games has Cataclysm, now called Homeworld: Emergence.

The story goes that Cataclysm was not added to the collection, nor was there a remaster due to a loss of the source code. With that said you can buy emergence today on GOG.

You must use this :

-Check run program as admin in compatibility tab.
-Then create a shortcut of cataclysm.exe and use the launch argument -window -noBorder.

It should be something like that :
"\Homeworld Cataclysm\cataclysm.exe" -window -noBorder

The game should work now.

Then to change the resolution ( I have HW 1 & HW Cataclysm running in 2560x1440 on W10).

- open regedit.exe and go to :
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Sierra On-Line\Cataclysm
In decimal Change screenDepth to 32 and screenHeight/screenWidth with your resolution.

Then go to :
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Classes\VirtualStore\MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Sierra On-Line\Cataclysm

If this exist then do the same change as before. If it doesnt then ignore this.

Now the game should work fine.

This does not work, the intro videos will now play (In a tiny portion of the screen centered) then after the 3dfx logo, it simply minimizes after being all janky, and the game just won't open back up.

Remove or move the following files:
glide.dll, glide2x.dll, and glide3x.dll (nGlide related DLLs)
nglide_config.exe (nGlide configurator)
3Dfx (folder, contains a DLL that links 3DFX OpenGL support to nGlide)
 Optionally, the following files can be removed as well:
nglide_readme.txt (readme file for nGlide)
3DfxSpl.dll, 3DfxSpl2.dll, and 3DfxSpl3.dll (3DFX animated splash screens)

Oh yeah, I'm using the CD version so I didn't think about this.

Getting rid of the 3dfx files helps, thanks ^_^. Really wish they could've added Cataclycm (rot in hades, Blizzard) to the RM collection. The story's still superior to HW2's.

Just to drop this here : Shouldnt they now be renaming Emergence to Cataclysm again? If Aktivision Blizzard would be "independent" then ok, copyright maybe (Even thou its Dumb... Cataclysm cant be copyrighted, its a common used word and its still called HOMEWORLD CATACLYSM and not only CATACLYSM so the whole reason for that is dumb AF) but after Microsoft bought it? Its not theirs to decide now, its actualy Microsoft to decide now. Sooo they should basicaly rename the game into its proper name again.

That said : No matter its called CATACLYSM inside the menu anyway so its all good. i own the old one so i dont even care about that.
