All this to say; it's really personal preference on what is "best" or not. The first 3 guns are all pretty good and fit different play styles ... the last gun I won't comment on because I actively don't like it.
Currently I'm using the fourth gun, though, at least for a while. Yes, it's a gimmicky cheese-gun that basically amounts to cheating, but the secondary reload is annoying enough that I probably won't stick with it unless I have a "x% accuracy" challenge ahead of me.
I've made it above 500 with Crimson and faster reload but with that first load out I'm pushing 1000. It's my fave.
Personally, if you don't use the shotgun special shot of the Royal Gunsmith then it's better to just use the first gun for the faster reload time and no movement penalty. I stand in one spot most of the time so the reduced movement isn't that big of an issue and the shotgun shot is good in a pinch
In all honesty, cursed gazed spamming combo can just clear everything thrown at you. I got to 800 kills with this set standing in one spot spamming cursed gaze. I think you can just use whatever you're the most comfortable to to make sure that you don't start reloading when being swarmed from all sides.
