Steam version with an old RoF account?
Hi dudes, I purchased RoF and all the dlc during the flash sale (been waiting a long while for a deep discount), however I have a non-steam Iron Cross edition registered to my email.

Is it possible to register the steam version and dlc to my pre-existing account, or am I going to need to create a new account to another email?

Cheers and thanks in advance, can't wait to get stuck into it.

Given that content cannot be shared between Steam and non-Steam accounts, I'd be inclined to create a new account. I only had the non-Steam demo version but to avoid any potential issues, I created a new account (using a different email address) anyway.

Linking a Steam to a non-Steam account may be safe, but it would make sense to keep things separate IMHO. You would then retain separate access to both sets of content which would only be a good thing.

Other people may have a more insightful view that have actually gone through the process of linking a Steam account to an already active non-Steam account with which they have bought content.

Hope that made some sort of sense.

Cool thanks for the response that does make sense. I'd like to try and merge / link the accounts mainly because my current account is connected to my main personal email, but yeah it would be cool if someone else went through the process and could fill me in.

I'm having the same issue and have emailed the dev's in the hope they can merge (or exchange keys) with my current email, because I know that in a year or so if I reinstall the game, I'm going to use the wrong email and wonder where all my DLC has gone :P

It's a fairly silly system they have. We should be able to have multiple keys to one account.

The 777 account allows you to buy individual aircraft, while the STEAM account forces you to buy packs. When ROF was developed by neoqb, STEAM refused to touch the product (this was years before Greenlight), so neoqb+777 developed their own system, and they were loyally supported by their own community.

You can play on STEAM or 777 servers with a single account. You cannot share DLC across accounts. In an ideal world, it would be nice to have that ability, I agree. Maybe in the future. For now, definitely keep your accounts separate, and write down the account information somewhere safe so you don't lose it!

They are willing to change email adress of your account if you contact them (prefereably from both old and new accounts) at rof@777studios.net. So you can ask them to swap your emails, mailing form both accounts explaining you own both and want game licences exchanged so your "main" email is tied to steam licence.

Cool thanks for the advice and info guys, I've sent them an email to try and move my current account to another email address.

I had a very stale response from them when I tried to get some help, but I have sent them another email about your success and am hopeful that they can resolve the issue.

Cheers for the info! :)

As it happens, Skratsby, I did :)

They offered to swap my email accounts around for the activations (I've not had time to follow it up yet). So the offer is there. I'll try to get back to this thread with confirmation, when and if I am successful with it...

Great, glad to hear it and thanks for the details! I hadn't recieved a response so I've popped off another email, we'll see how it goes.

Just posting to say it all worked perfectly for me, my old account is to another email and I've created a new one to my main email for the Steam version. 777 were very helpful!

How can I buy the custom paint pac for ROF-CBE?
Draig Jan 7, 2014 @ 5:23pm
they are free downloads on the ROF website. There are many.

I'm very pleased to say that the RoF team (Viktor in particular) resolved the issue and swapped my accounts for me, including all the DLC. :B1:

so basicaly, if I bought the ''The 1st great air war'' DVD years ago, and bought several planes, I'm better to stay away from Steam for that game ?
