Medals?

I've been wounded a half dozen times. Have more kills than anyone in the theater. Was promoted to the max. Am commander of my squadron and..... no purple heart eq.... no blue max.... nothing! A career in this game is weird!

i think medals stack, but since the devs only added some, you cant get that many in variety, at least i think. idk maybe someone else knows better than me, if so please help this man

i also don't think USA medals are a thing for this game, since its the u.s if kinda off to the side compared to the rest of the nations in game. i mean there are u.s medals, but not a lot, or many that is.

Hi dcorr15,

The U.S. military didn't have a Purple Heart medal during WWI. A "wound" ribbon was awarded for a short period of time, then a gold chevron patch. Most would probably have received a Certificate of Merit for gallantry. Gen. Douglas MacArthur, helped develop and implement the currently issued medal around 1932.

Looking at the U.S.A. game medals, I only see U.S. medals of valor. The Distinguished Service Cross was issued after 02 Jan 1918 during Pres. Woodrow Wilson's administration.

I know it is possible to attain all of the medals in the game but, I am not one of the players. I have mostly flown "Career" mode for the Lafayette Escadrille & the U.S. Aero squadrons. Also, I am not a WWI buff and the chronological order of the war most probably matters.

P.S. - Here is information that I found in the RoF User's Manual concerning awards.

Historical Awards: these awards can only be earned in the Campaign and Career modes
of the game and are awarded based on historical criteria. Earning an award in this
category is determined by your compliance with mission objectives, by how well you
followed your orders, and by which awards were available on the historical date on
which you flew your mission.

I know there is no "purple heart" for german fliers! I have played this game before but can not understand why the medals are not rewarded consistently. 100 kills,?
