How do I invert an axis? And other controls related questions
I just started playing so I'm in the process of mapping controls to my hotas and rudder petals but my throttle is backwards and I don't see any inversion options anywhere. Is it possible to invert it?

I also have a couple other controls related issues, it says in the key binds menu that F2 is the external camera but when I hit F2 nothing happens. I also tried setting up the head controls to bow vertically using my hat switch up and down and turn horizontally to hat switch left and right but that doesn't work either. Am I doing something wrong?

well, maybe? you don't say which joystick you have, and maybe its the joystick?
if your using any sort of programming tool with the joystick could be the issue also.

I am using a Thrustmaster 16000M joystick with the TWCS throttle. I use this for several other flying games/ simulators including IL2 Sturmovik: Battle of Stalingrad, and it works without issue in those. In Battle of Stalingrad there is a little button on each axis in the control mapping screen, to switch or invert an axis if needed but this game doesn't seem to have that option. I am not using any programming software. The joystick and throttle axis all seem to work, it's just that the throttle is inverted, when I push the throttle up, power decreases and when I pull it back towards me, it increases power. This is opposite of all aircraft I've ever flown. Also some keyboard commands don't seem to work like I said when I press F2 to switch to external camera, nothing happens, etc.

Sorry to say, Rise of Flight game settings are much more versatile (complicated?) than IL-2 Sturmovik. Each airplane can have its own setup independent of all other airplanes. For example: several of the French airplanes' throttles normally decreases as you push the throttle handle forward. But, you can also have other airplane throttles increase when pushing the handle forward (e.g. RAF SE5a).

Question #1: “My throttle is backwards”
Left mouse click OPTIONS {the gear symbol at the bottom right of screen} > RESPONSES (tab) > select airplane to setup from column at left side of screen > deselect "use 'all planes' responses for this plane" [box, top center] > click the box below “Current Axis” and select axis you want changed from the drop-down menu (e.g. mix, radiator, throttle, etc.) > check “Invert” [box] below “Current Axis Setup” > click “Apply” at the bottom of the screen.

Question #2: “F2, external view doesn’t work”
Left Mouse click OPTIONS > CONTROLS (tab) > click "Camera Controls" at the left side of screen > scroll down to find “Camera ex. Free: my plane” in the center-left column. Is there a keyboard function key (F2?) programmed in any of the three horizontal rows to the right of “Camera ex. Free: my plane”? Any one of these 3 boxes can be programmed to any unused function (F key), joystick button &/or keyboard key. Click inside any one of the 3 boxes will select that box. Press the key you want to program for the external view. Click “APPLY” at the left bottom of the program box and then “APPLY” again at the bottom left of the screen.

Thanks,

Thanks,

Thank you so much for the info. I didn't notice those settings in the options.
