Build options ?
Since the update, I've had 3 runs all tragically ending because of my build. Highest round was 25. It seems to be difficult to commit to any specific build, and whenever Id like to switch builds during my run, I cant because the loot needs upgraded. The loot upgrading isnt the best because of the new feature with the underline rarity options for loot. Its a good idea for the change of dismantle at the end of each floor, but the new feature isnt the greatest. Id like to have the option to delete a whole set entirely maybe. Idk im not a game developer. I'd like to reach out to the community to see if there are any specific builds being used to get to floors past 30. I've tried gold, silver, and royal. Im going to do another run and try something totally different and see what i can cook up. wish me luck.

Only thing you can do it have 3 stages. Starter set and upgrade that while collecting pieces for the mid game set once you hit the floor that drops it.

Then same for end game, as it starts at 30 you will collect those. Best luck I have had getting to 30 is the living set, it's like 99% you will get to 30 and then have a few floors to get some of the endgame stuff.
I had a fun run yesterday with Pyry as Devourer (I believe I had Extra Attack > Magic > Wisdom as passives). Pyry seems rather RNG heavy, though, as it depends on which spells drop. I did die at floor 32, a bit out of the blue, to two fire golems.

I used Emperor's Will and Heart of Gold for defense and Zephyron items for offense. Once you get Tome of Darkness for mind control it really pops off. One key piece to make it work once you start devouring your foes is the Ring of Interest, which gives you Absolution (Every time you attack, deal 5 Magic Damage to a random enemy). This is scaled by your wisdom and the Arcanum set bonus. This will generally help you clear - it can hit enemies from other lanes as well - and it will save you if you devour an enemy with low phys attack.

Early weapon was the Unchained Gauntlet, later I switched to the Ethercrest's Staff.

One idea to make it work more consistently could be to use the Poor Man's Helmet to survive turn 1, until the frost staff and devouring your enemies takes care of defense. I would then swap out Heart of Gold for the Zephyron chest for more damage.
Got to 49 with Sid Deserter:

Silver set with Axe > Orion Set > Turtle + Orion > Turtle + Mask of Cataclysm + Shard of Power + Ring of Power + Giant's Ring

Dropped multi-attack potion early and stayed at 50% flow from then on to always multi attack, i.e. only using two sets + commons. Skip the first turn if you are getting blinded (lvl 3+ Sun) or repulsed (lvl 2+ Kotya).

Later on I swapped in a Throngler when I needed life or I had to take damage on the first turn (no shield = no damage). Died to an unlucky combination of blinded and feared (cannot gain buffs).
I have to say, as it is now - I disagree with OP. The loss of dismantle might be fine in theory - but with the state of the actual game what it means is that there are a ton of monster abilities that we simply have no counter-play for. Sun is truly obnoxious. You just auto-miss first round? Oh goody. I actually got boots that had Luminous Rays on them (I have to say I love that monster abilities (some of them anyway) got added to the random mods pool) But even then all it meant was EVERYONE missed all attacks first round. Plus there are a number of combos with this that will 100% kill almost all builds. What if you get a sun + two venom spitters? They apply poison automatically - no hit required. And it bypasses armor. At level 50+ they are throwing 7-8k poison per round, each. With no dismantle, the max hp/armor we can get is pretty limited. That aside - Jupiter will eventually kill everyone, no matter the build. With 100% dodge (which they all get post level 50 or so?) eventually their damage will get high enough that there is simply nothing you can do. If you are facing only jupiters - you can't scale ephemeral armor or vampire hp with flesh - and there is no way to avoid missing and being countered.
