wtf is your steam name
also the game is constantly changing so the above message may be obsolete in a few updates. but yea you buy item until you get some better options. so far the game is still all about stats even though the dev has been trying so hard to not make it about just gaining stats but the way it launched it was better when it was more focused on stats, but there has been some changes to make it less stat focused but the core of the game just doesnt allow that to be. i think there needs to be a complete rework on the game entirely to not make it stat focused.
i've played overlooting which is the best implementation of what the dev is trying to do. its pretty much this game but is more focused on builds and sets. the stats are just secondary where as here stats is law and there is no buying loot you actually fight specific monsters and bosses and on winning choose from options of loot.
i think if the dev just take a look at what overlooting is doing he just might get the right idea on how to turn this game around in a direction that everyone would enjoy even after the constant changes. i still find this game enjoyable but i am still just waiting on whatever new update to play for like an hour or two then back for a new update.
Yes. To be fair, I haven't played it in awhile, but when I did play, this is an accurate assessment. There are clear "phases" determined by when certain THREAT enemies show up, and you need to have certain stat thresholds met by that time, or else you lose.
As a result, this game is actually a pretty fixed puzzler game more than a roguelite, roguelike, or dungeon crawler. If you don't mind that, it's fun to play around in for 10 or so hours to see some of the different set potentials. But that is what this game is. You'll not find StS or Shogun Showdown or Alina of Arena depth here. This game is more puzzler than random replayable.
