Antennas ... High Gain vs. Low Gain

Does it currently make a difference in game, if I just install a low gain antenna instead of a high gain one?

And if there aren´t some differences implemented yet ... are there plans to implement them?
(for examples as a prerequisite for the HiRes Color Cams as well as other instruments to work, because they need a large data transfer rate)

It doesn't seems to do anything right now, i had one broken on a landing, it ejected off the rover while the "pyramid" was still totally closed lmao, pretty sure it passed trough the "pyramid" itself, but my rover still works with no problems and i got nothing telling me it is damaged in the log, the remaining part is still rotating on my rover :p

If i recall correctly i saw a Dev's post somewhere saying there will be a limit for radio signal around 500 meters from the landing area, maybe those antennas will make a little difference once it is fully done and allow more or less long distance radio signal transfer, i hope so, it will had a little more to the challenge

I just reproduced the issue with the High gain antenna breaking on landing and ejected out of the pyramid while it wa sstill closed, passing through it, again no error message in the logs, just the antenna broken but the remaining part on the rover is still moving :

That happened to me once with the RAD and another time I was driving around, minding my own business when there was a bang and my RAD broke off although I was just moving on flat terrain.

Yeah the antennas are not fully implemented yet. But yes they will be within a month or so. Not top priority at this point in time

It will be a great game changer once they will be done and have a limited range of action for the rovers to communicate with main platform, not important for now in the current game state but might introduce the real challenge i am waiting for once it will be functional :)
