We need more games like this
Now, THIS. This is the kind of game genre that needs encouragement
We need more games and simulations of space exploration and discovery. Missions to other planets - graphic and smart. Ability to journey in our Solar System and beyond

I hope Bohemia will continue keeping up a great work in this direction

Have you tried Kerbal Space Program, I also agree that there should be more games like Take On Mars.

Kerbal is just cute and capturing an asteroid is funny. I understand Kerbal has its complexity like trying to land on the moon or asteroid and such, but This game simulates real life without the caroony aspect. XD I might get this game because of the realism just like Arma 3. :D I know that I will never be working for NASA or be going to MIT, but game like these are very educational and interesting. I learned physics by playing megaman on the gameboy advance when I was in high school. Haha.

Calling KSP cute and funny is so far beyond an understatement it is almost insulting.

I'm about to check out the Kerbal SP you guys are talking about. It does look humorous but the process of launching and navigating seems to be complex

Well, at least from the looks of things on youtube

Take on Mars is strange. I don't understand what to do spent maybe 15 minutes figuring how to move for 30 seconds and now stuck on trying to do mission in the space station. I will play it later. It is time consuming. At least in Kerbal you start off building a rocket ship and is easier to learn. XD

I'd hardly call KSP "cartoonish". Graphics aside it is one of the most hardcore, merciless, complex and complicated games you'll ever play. Ever. Its excellent modding community can also add in all the "realism" cut off the game for now to prevent frustration: burning up on reentry, running out of life support, repairing stuff, cockpits that allow full missions without getting out of first person view, missions and budgets... so you can even make it harder if the vanilla game looks too *light* for you. TKOM is cute, interesting and really good looking, but it's in a very different ballpark than KSP in terms of scale, freedom, and gameplay.

Lemme put it this way: in KSP not only you can do a Mars (Duna) mission, but you can design an SSTO spaceplane...

...dock it with a transfer module, also designed from scratch by you...

and land it anywhere you want...

http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=230982513

...And back home. Or not. Because you could also stay on Earth (Kerbin) testing capsule-recovering VTOLs...

...or spend the afternoon ramping rovers off craters in the Moon (Mün). Your choice.

So really, play both. They don't step on each other's toes and each one is good at its own awesome things. Besides, at 40$ combined you'll get a way better value than getting a single AAA-priced turd like X Rebirth or Call of Battlefield: Advanced DLC.

PD: Sorry about the KSP commercial, but I hope I got my point across.

Yes you did, thank you
I didn't expect Kerbal to be this deep, to tell the truth. I'll check it out
P.S. Amen to X3 Rebirth, BTW

Absolutely.

To top off the shameless advertising and if you want to check it out, I made a bunch of very short guides to get new players up and running. Check them out if you want.
