Money cheat

I was looking for a money cheat as I had an issue with one of the missions where the lander kept falling through the surface and then I over committed on research. Restarted a few times and now its getting annoying.

Not sure if anyone else posted, I did search - Mods, please delete if this has been posted or sticky if its worthy enough.

To increase your funds:

1. Exit game if you're already running.

2. Head to the steam folder -> steamapps/common/Take On Mars/Scenarios/Campaign

3. Use Wordpad to edit an .scn file. RUN AS AN ADMINISTRATOR. Now this can work for any .scn file so long as you edit a valid mission. For example, I used GaleCrater.scn and searched for '7623'. This is the script for Science Mission Ref - 7623 as listed in-game. This is an initial probe mission that has a major task value of 150k.

4. When you find the value of '7623', look for the string: Mission_WorthMajor 150

5. Edit this to whatever value you wish. Not sure on a maximum the game allows but I punched in 950000 and it works fine. More than enough to fund the whole campaign.

I don't condone the use of cheats in the normal sense as it takes away the fun and challenge of the game. As many here have lol'd over, it's a pretty accurate example of NASA. But since we're still in Beta and bugs tend to frustrate a few (incl me), I hope this helps you out. Post if something doesn't work.

It's very hard to find guides in the forums, upload your guide in the steam guides section. More people will find it that way.
