Modular Base Life Support
Okay, I've done a search through the different posts and haven't been able to find any info for Modular Bases in multiplayer. Outposts, yes, Modular, no; that said I've built a 7x7 base with a 4:1 Nitrogen to Oxygen ratio (6240 Nitrogen, 1560 Oxygen), placed the Life Support Module on the East wall and tried to set the atomsphere to 1 and the local composition is blank. Am I doing something wrong with the Modular Base? I have four airlocks conecting the base so far and the all have the parts needed to create a workable airlock system. Any help would be appriciated

Addendum:

I also have 12 empty canisters set up, (1560 units) to recieve the Mars Atmosphere and still nothing.

Hi
I can build modular, BUT, like yourself, i have spent hours trying to get it the idiotic life support to work. With only one simple airlock, no tunnel, electrical working, totally sealed, remounted resource tanks, tank wall panel, all next to life support module.
I get to choose what atm i want, but when i select, the level goes to that but with no local change.
With no life support, it is another game killer, if u can get the original outpost life support to work good luck, other than that, i have no use for the game at this point..............

Yeah, I have built a pretty large modular base, with sections inside each main area and included a Greenhouse for plants that if I could get the LSM to work it would be a CO2 rich environment for plants. I have been able to build an Outpost with full life support, though to do so I have been using the Huge resource tanks and any seperate room with airlocks use wall mount barrels and usually in the 4:1 (Nitrogen to Oxygen) for normal atmosphere and then greenhouses are different 4:1:1 (Nitrogen, Oxygen, CO2). Not entirely surprised that things aren't working but I would like to know where to report these types of bugs.
Have you tried placing the LSM onto the 'EAST' wall before you have the entire modular base built and enclosed? Like make it one of the first starting pieces after placing the floor and lower walls.

I would have to rebuild the entire base or build a new one. I moved the LSM from a South facing wall to the East. I did conect my power late on the Modular base, after I fully enclosed the base. Either way right now its not playable on the TEST branch for Multiplayer co-op. I guess I could switch back to main branch / none selected and retest.

Intriguing - what is unplayabe about the TEST Branch's Multiplayer Co-op? I'm aware of several issues that block players from joining or cause them great agony but nothing like that should effect the building system.

Not fully unplayable but just annoying; building up the infrastructure to build a full Modular Base and then to have it not work when trying to pressurize the base is what I find unplayable. I've played for eight hours, building and harvesting resources, in one sitting only to have that time wasted due the LSM not working. The base I've built are large and don't get me wrong, I love this game. I understand that its early access and most thing are a work in progress. I've recommended this game to my friends due to the sandbox nature and the simulator for rovers.

As a side note, does anyone here know how to create rechargeable batteries for wall piece for the Modular Base and the Outpost? I would like to try to incorporate them into my multiplayer games.

J/c Are you aware that the LSM only works pretty much when mounted on the North or East Wall? There was a thread about it back when the LSM came out - stranger than the 3d Printer Decision to me but it is what it is - also make sure it's not upside down :p

Another thing to watch out for that hasn't gotten as much attention is the fact that you need ton "prime" the carbon dioxide tanks and naturally with Modular Bases the resource panels must have the right type/number of barrels. It took me 4 FULL oxygen barrels, and 1 of Each of Nitrogen and CO2, on the Moon to get 0.3 Atmospheres - this is basically the SMALLEST moduular base you could build minus the fact that i had a long tunnel before the airlock to the ground (wasn't about to jump that high lol) Note the CO2 needs to be partial or rather mostly empty - but must have CO2 in it. Also needless to say you must power your base to make it generate atmospheres, and you also need power to run the radiattion alamrs, screens and other devices that might take power (note: Water Fountains/Modular Printers, despite the unrealistic nature of the design DO NOT require power to work -Water Fountain needs ONLY 0.3+ Atmospheres; and the modular printer must be build outside anyway.)

Honestly? the modular base seems alot more trouble than a outpost even though the outpost is an older rendition; The Problem liies with the interior panels which don't apply to the outpost.

Also another common problem I think stems from the "room" calculation. I think if things arn't built in just the right order, the LSM won't calculate the room properly. To fix this problem on outpost building, you can pull up and place down the floor in front of the doorway (or try multiple doorways if you have them). This seems to restart the "room" calculation that will fix one of the problems.

Also, as noted above, you may have to place the LSM on the east (I have had it work on north as well) wall to get it to function properly.

Other note, you will need power, each LSM on the outpost draws 100W constant, and 1 KW when pressurizing/depressurizing. So highly recommend not using a solar panel for this.

For resources, I think the large resource tanks are only for the outpost building. I believe you have to use the wall holders with canisters for modular.

I am planning on getting a few screen shots and making a troubleshooting guide for the LSM to help, but basically looking at the image above, you should see a storage and local composition as seen above. If it is not functioning at all (west or south wall) you won't see any of that information. If it is functioning, but the "room" isn't calculating properly, you should see the storage resources, but if you hover over the different atmospheric settings, you won't get the "what is needed" values. The Local composition portion should populate properly after everything is setup properly and you can pressurize correctly. If you don't see these when you pressurize, I would assume something isn't working properly and I would try pulling up and reconnecting different parts.

Hope this helps some.

Makes me wonder if I'm the only one that tried to mount the LSM in the roof or basement :p
